Caroline Westmoreland

 


 

Caroline Westmoreland , 60 of Edmonton passed away Friday June 30, 2023 at her home. She was born July 1, 1962 to the late Pate White and Norma Jean White.

Survivors include two sons Chuckie (Amber) Westmoreland and Bradley Westmoreland both of Edmonton, one daughter Jacqueline Westmoreland of Edmonton. Seven grandchildren Logan, Dylan, Zayne, Tydus, Braxton, Auna and Khloe, two great grandchildren Easton and Kensleigh, four brothers Steve (Tammy) White, Greg (Diane) White, Jeff White and Gary White, and one sister Anita (Jeff) Barnett. She also has nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers Mike White and Larry White.

Funeral services will be held Sunday July 2, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M until time of service at McMurtrey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made for funeral expense.

Stacy Slover




Stacy Lee Slover, 54 of Horse Cave passed away Monday June 26, 2023 at his home. He was born July 8,1968 to the late Larry Slover and Dianna Embry.

Mr. Slover was employed at Geothermal Supply Company. He loved playing the lottery and visiting his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include two brothers Jack (Christy) Slover of Glasgow, Jimmy Lee Slover of TN, three sisters Shannon Lamae (Patrick) of  TN,  April (Andy) Holley of Glasgow and Candice Baker of Glasgow. Eleven nieces and nephews and a special nephew Jackson Slover.

Funeral services will be held Thursday June 29, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. with burial to follow in the Popular Log Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Bobby Coomer

 

 


Bobby Lewis Coomer, 78 of Edmonton passed away Tuesday June 20,2023 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was born March 22,1945 to the late Jimmy (Roach) Coomer and Lillie Mae Sneed Coomer.

 

Survivors include two stepchildren Chris (Melissa) Brown and Lori (James) Reece, one brother Billy Coomer, nieces and nephews Donnie (Melody) Coomer, Greg Coomer, Lisa (Chris) Rutherford, Judy (Randall) Richards, Danny (Martha) Coomer, Michael (Paula) Coomer, Timmy (Kelly) Thompson, Brenda (Jason) Owsley, Scotty Smith, Patricia (Mike) Sessa, Tony (Michelle) Coomer, Vocal Pelly, Hernietta Allen, Larry Huddleston, Tracy Hoover, Bonnie Green and several great nieces and nephews.

 

 

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters Betty Hoover, Sarah Smith, Jean Thompson, Evelyn Coomer, Dorothy Beck, Alice Huddleston, brothers William (Fats) Coomer, Frank Coomer, Arnold Coomer and JC Coomer, and sister-in-law Betty Coomer.

 

 

 

Funeral services will be held Friday June 23, 2023, at 2:00 P.M at Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Coomer Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday June 22, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and on Friday at the church 10:00 A.M. until time of service.

Eva Watkins Lynn

 


 


 

Eva Watkins Lynn, 93 of Summer Shade passed away Monday June 19, 2023 at Monroe County Medical Center.  She was born March 11,1930 to the late Lin Watkins and Betsy Watkins.

 

Mrs. Lynn was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ. She loved to make quilts, read and travel.

 

She is survived by four daughters Mayme (Darnell) Hunter, Shirley Killman and Carolyn Yvonne Lynn (Berry) Lawson all of Summer Shade, and Rita Gammon of Lafayette, TN. One son Otis Mitchell Lynn of Summer Shade. Fourteen grandchildren Robbie (Teddy) Chapman, Jeffery (Renea) Hunter, Donald (Stacey) Hunter, Tammi (Kenyon) Wallace, Kristi (Don) Jones, Amanada (Marty) Bailey, James Thomas Lawson “JT”, Linzy (Brad) Matthews, Kevin Hauskins, Jamie (Chris) Farley, Haylee (Thomas) Scruggs, Jon-Erik Lynn, Ethan Wayne (Christina) Lynn, and Erica Dawn Lynn. Eighteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren with one on the way.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George Lynn, brother Hargus Watkins, two sisters Jewell Armer and Reva Evans and son in law Paul Killman.

 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 21,2023 1:00 P.M. at White Cemetery Chapel, with burial in the White Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday June 20, 2023 from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Wednesday 9:00 A.M. at White Cemetery Chapel until time of service.


Sally Williams


 




Sally Margaret Williams, 89 of the Green Valley Community passed away Monday June 19, 2023, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. She was born May 25, 1934, to the late William Brent McCoy and Dora Williams McCoy.

Mrs. Williams was a member of Coral Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors working on the farm with her husband. She loved everyone and really enjoyed talking on the phone with her friends.

Survivors include one daughter Margaret Soards of Glasgow; granddaughter Melissa Gibson (Jason) of Glasgow, one great granddaughter Heather Emmitt (Chase) of Smiths Grove, two step granddaughters Angela (Jeremy) Copas, and Amanda (Tommy) Soards, two great great grandsons Landon and Joseph Kol, three step great granddaughters Andrea, Ariel (Kaled) and Ally, one step great-great grandson Tamen. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Stanley Williams, brothers C.W. McCoy and Stanley McCoy, sister Frances Lutterman and son in law Billy Soards.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 A.M at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Refuge Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday June 23, 2023 from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and on Saturday 8:00 A.M. until time of service.

Maggie Pearl Paull

 



   Maggie Pearl Hurt Paull, age 88, of Beaumont, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023 at her home.

   Born April 1, 1935 in Edmonton, KY she was a daughter of the late Rollin and Clara Mae Romines Hurt. She was the widow of Leroy Paull who passed away July 24, 2020.

   She worked in sewing factories and was a member of Beaumont Community Church.

  Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Corn, Austin, KY, Freda Lovely (David) . Murfreesboro, TN, and Linda London, Beaumont; three Sisters, Sue Ellis, Summer Shade, Barbara Estes, Glasgow, and Carol Richardson, Canada; one brother Tommy Hurt, Edmonton; four grandchildren, Tara Garmon, Maria Parke, Michael Hanna, and Christopher Hanna; seven great grandchildren, Salem Garmon, Bailey Duncan, Curtis Duncan, Caitlin Parke, Caiden Parke, Luna Hanna and Isla Hanna; and three great great grandchildren, Alexyn, Aivi, and Aria Rogers and one on the way, Vayden Ballard.

   Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents, include one brother, Phillip Hurt; one sister, Mayrene Phelps and one son in law, Tom Corn and one grandson, Josh Parke.

   Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Beaumont Community Church. Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2023, 4:00-8:00 P.M at Mcmurtrey Funeral Home and on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, 9:00 A.M. until time of services at Beaumont Community Church.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beaumont Cemetery.

Owen Phelps


 

   Owen Phelps, age 80 of Edmonton, Ky. passed away June 17, 2023 at the Hospice House in Bowling Green.

    He was a son of the late Millard and Lonia Garrett Phelps and of the Methodist Faith. He was a construction worker.

     He is survived by one daughter Gloria Phelps and one son Daniel Phelps of Glasgow; and two grandchildren Amber (Adam) Burton and Timothy Jessie; two great grandchildren Isaiah White-Jessie and Mukenzie Jessie; one sister Helen Jessie of Edmonton and two brothers Arkley and Gene (Jo Ann) Phelps of Edmonton.

   Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Onia Garrett, Rae Dial and Linda Dickson and one brother Jimmy Phelps.

   A memorial service will be held later as cremation was chosen.

   Memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.

Derral Glass



Derral Alton Glass, 88 of the Randolph community passed away Sunday June 11, 2023 at his home. He was born June 16, 1934 to the late Oscar Glass and Pearl Denham Glass.

 

Mr. Glass was a member of Hickory College Church of Christ and was a deacon until his wife passed away. He was a veteran stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky and served in Butzbach, Germany from July 12, 1955 till June 1,1957. He loved woodworking and made many crafts, porch swings, chairs, tables and one of his favorite pieces was his walking canes.

 

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Glass, two brothers Wilbur Glass and Terry Glass, two sisters Mable White and Edia Vaughn, one granddaughter Patricia Renea, daughter in law Sharon Glass and son in law Arlin Wheat.

 

Survivors include his four children, Don (Kathy) Glass of Edmonton, Pat (Russell) Coomer of Columbia, Beverly (Donald) Bruton of Smiths Grove and Randell (Dianna) Glass of Edmonton, one sister Wanda Martin of Frankfort, IN. five grandchildren Angela (Kyle) Schwartz, John P. Scott, Allen (Jessica) Glass, Sara (Zack) Glass and Daniel (Laura) Glass, step grandchildren Christy (Paul) Sanders, Amy Walden and Dakota Bunch, four great grandchildren Barrett, Harrison, Liam and Evelyn, step great grandchildren Devin, Tucker, Ty and Isla. Two Special nieces Runell Clemmons and Nickie Dubree.

 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 14, 2023 at 2:00 P.M.  at McMurtrey Funeral Home , with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday June 13, 2023 from 4:30-8:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Wednesday 8:00 A.M. until time of service.

Roberta Kaye Huff



Roberta Kaye Huff, 51 of Willow Shade passed away Thursday June 8, 2023 at Skyline Medical Center. She was born April 19, 1972 to the late Milas Jr Hurt and Phyllis Arms.

 

She is survived by her husband Adam Huff, one daughter Misty Murphy (Justin), one son Cody Appleby, two sisters Betty Jones, Sandra Johnson (Jimmy), one brother Joe (Melissa) Hurt, three grandchildren Chase and Gabriel Murphy and Carson Appleby. She also has several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Milas Bodie Hurt.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 13, 2023 1:00 P.M at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with burial in the Mud Camp Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday June 12, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Tuesday 8:00 A.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home until time of service.


Gary Wayne Whitlow

 



Gary Wayne Whitlow, 56 of Edmonton passed away Wednesday June 7, 2023 at Skyline Medical Center. He was born March 19, 1967 to the late Donna Miller.

 

He is survived by one son Kevin (Tyra) Whitlow of Edmonton three sisters Jackie Walker of Louisville, Lisa Bush of Hart County, Tammy Baker of Hazard, one brother David Fields of Edmonton, three grandchildren Seth Weaver of Edmonton, Chase Weaver of Hiseville , Brittany (Bryant) Weaver of Edmonton, four great grandchildren Hannah, Hadley, Hunter, Haven Weaver of Edmonton, he is also survived by the mother of his children Karen Whitlow.

 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son Davis Whitlow, brother Timmy Whitlow, and mother Donna Miller.

 

Funeral services will be held Sunday June 11, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home , with burial to follow in the Society Hill Cemetery. Gary Marlin Hodges


 

Gary Marlin Hodges, 80 of Mt. Hermon passed away Thursday June 8, 2023 at his home. He was born February 11, 1943 to the late Clyde Hodges and Ina Norman Hodges.

 

Mr. Hodges was a member of Poplar Log Church of Christ. A life long farmer, an avid U.K. fan and worked for Sunbeam bread company for many years. Gary loved to make others laugh and loved his family dearly.

 

He is survived by two daughters Beth (Kevin) Bradshaw of Temple Hill and Jana (Joel) Dubree of Mt. Hermon. Eight grandchildren John Barton Hodges(Jordon), Taylor Hodges, Marlee Hodges, Caden Hodges, Chelsie McGuire, Colby Bradshaw(Taylor), Nolan Dubree(Briley) Callie Shirley(Jacob). Great grandchildren Emberly Segarra, Cash McGuire, Rio McGuire, Bexley McGuire, Briscoe McGuire, Beau-Daisy McGuire, Indy Bradshaw, Judson Dubree, Acie Dubree, Haisley Hodges and Jacelynn Hodges.

 

The family would like to recognize his caregivers Robbie Hutcherson, Pat Bradley, Jenna Rush, Bruce Cross, Tammi Demumbrum, Bro. Neal Pipkin, Mark Myatt.

 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Janet Hodges, son Bart Hodges, two sisters Mary Smith and Gloria Dale Hodges, and one brother Dr. Stanley Hodges.

 

Funeral services will be held Monday June 12,2023 12:00 P.M. at White Cemetery Chapel, with burial in the White Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday June 11, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home  and on Monday 8:00 A.M. at White Cemetery Chapel until time of service.

Shirley Jean Page Walker, 76 of Summer Shade passed away Saturday June 3, 2023 at Signature Healthcare in Tompkinsville. She was born September 22,1946 to the late Otha Kenneth Page and Betty Marie Adams Page.

 

She is survived by two daughters Teresa Furlong (John Garrett) and Christie (James) Thompson both of Summer Shade; one sister Lanna Perkins; three brothers Harley (Gail) Page, Charlie Page and Harvey Page; three grandchildren Miranda Furlong (Aaron Hampton), Michael Trent Thompson and Allyson Thompson; one great grandchild Aubrey Hampton.

 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Albert Walker, brother Eugene Page, son in law Barry Furlong, sister in law Jo Ann Page, brother in law Louie Dale Perkins and two nephews John Page and Kelvin Perkins.
