James Carson White

On this day May 23, 2020, Carson White went on a long-awaited journey to be with his heavenly father and be reunited with his son, Chad White, and parents Homer H. and Pauline Goode White. Carson is survived by his wife, Pam; a sister, Paula “PJ” Martin (Tudor); a daughter-in-law, Lori White; and grandchildren, Kassidy and Tyler White. Also surviving is a large church family from Canaanland Baptist Church where he was a member. Visitation will be at Canaanland Baptist Church, 1594 Oil City Road, Glasgow, on Thursday, May 28, 2020, beginning at 10 a.m. until the funeral time at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. In keeping with the governor’s new requirements for funeral and memorial services the number of attendees in the church at any given time will be limited; social distancing will be necessary and face coverings are recommended. Temperatures will be taken upon entry to the church. McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canaanland Baptist Church in Carson’s memory.

CARL THOMAS ROBINSON

Carl Thomas Robison, 91, Edmonton, passed away, Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Metcalfe Healthcare Center. Born January 9, 1929 in Bowling Green, KY he was a son of the late Mabel Holland and Thomas Pritchard Robinson and the husband of the late Thalia Marie Fenstemacher Robison. He had worked as a carpenter and painter. Survivors include two step daughters, Jeannie Bass, Rogersville, MO and Thalia (Billy Joe) Pace, Summer Shade; one step son, Bill (Debbie) Oldham, Marlow, OK; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceding him in death besides his wife and parents were several siblings. Private graveside services will be held later. McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.

EVIE PEARL HAYES PARKE

Evie Pearl Hayes Parke, 90, Summer Shade, passed away May 16, 2020 at T J Samson Community Hospital. Born May 16, 1930 in Edmonton, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ova Lee Shaw Hayes and the wife of the late Otha Parke. She was a housewife, caregiver, helped farm, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and did a lot for her community. She was a member of Missionary Mound Baptist Church since 1947. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Donald (Leisa) Parke, and Tommy Parke both of Summer Shade; three grandchildren, Jeremy Lee (Megan Young) Parke, Jenny (Johnathan) Heckel, and Jessica (Tyler Bonnema) Parke; seven great grandchildren, Camron and Aubrey Parke, Landon and Lucas Heckel, Brailey Brown, Briale and Callee Lane and two special caregivers Jackie Lohden and Patti Hurt. Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents, were one daughter, Shirley Parke; two sisters, Maye Isenberg and Maude Hawkins; and five brothers, Richard, Buford, Thomas, Edward and Alphie Hayes. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 21, 2020, 1:00 P.M. at Missionary Mound Baptist Church with Brother Dale Copas officiating. Burial will follow in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2020, 3:00-8:00 with limited capacity at McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Thursday, May 21, 2020 after 10:00 A.M. at the Missionary Mound Baptist Church, with limited capacity, until time of services at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to the Missionary Mound Cemetery. We will be broadcasting the funeral live on McMurtrey Funeral home Facebook page for those who are unable to come in person.

Berle Legene Welsh

Berle Legene Welsh, 79, Summer Shade, passed away Thursday, May, 14, 2020 at the Metcalfe Health Care Center. Born January 16, 1941 in Kettle, KY, he was the son of the late Stonewall Lee and Dollie Frances Riddle Welsh. He was a retired plumber and an army veteran. Survivors include one brother, Lonnie (Charlotte) Welsh; one step daughter, Judy (Carl) Cherry, Scottsville; one step son, Larry (Verne) Cruce, Chicago: several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren:; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents, were his wife, Daisy Welsh, three brothers, Myron, Reid, and Vernon Welsh and three sisters, Neva Estes, Nelda Siddens, and Nella Welsh. Due to Covid 19, private graveside services will be held at later date
