Betty Page



 

 

   Betty Marie Adams Page, age 93,  of Glasgow  passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at Shanti Niketon Hospice Home in Glasgow. Born August 12, 1928 in Jefferson City, TN she was the daughter of the late Frank Adams and Minnie Gilbert Adams Cockrum.

   She worked at Key Industries and was a member of the Refuge Church of Christ.

    Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Walker and Lanna Perkins both of Summer Shade; three sons Harley  (Gail) Page, Summer Shade, Charlie Page, Tompkinsville, Harvey Page,  Scottsville; sister in law, Sally Page, Tompkinsville; brother Frank Adams;

ten grandchildren, Teresa Furlong, Christie Thompson, Randy Perkins, Angela Daniels, Bobby Page, Andrew Page, William Page, Cary Page, Christopher Page, and Kathy Hume; 19 great grandchildren, Miranda, Michael, Allyson, Katelynn, Austin, Chris, Winter, James, Matthew, Austin, Braden, Jake, Brantley, Abby, Emma, Camden, Jaelyn, Cooper, Mary, Jacob, Sarah, Matthew and  Johnathon. and one great great grandchild, Aubrey.

   Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband, Otha Kenneth Page, one son, David E Page; four grandchildren, Kelvin Perkins, John McKinley Page, Ronnie Dale Page and Donnie Joe Page; stepfather, Hugh W. Cockrum; brothers, Earl, Leroy and Bobby; and sister Doris.

   Funeral services will be Thursday, July 28, 2022; 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Monroe County. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 3:00-8:00 P.M. and on Thursday, July 28, 2022 after 10:00 A.M. at the church until time of the funeral at 2:00 P.M.

 In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Bobby Jackson


   Bobby Jackson, age 79 of Tompkinsville passed away Friday, July 22, 2022 at the Monroe County Medical Center. Born June 23, 1943, he was a son of the late Joe and Dora Jackson.

   Survivors include one sister, Ruth and husband John Dodson, Indianapolis, IN and several nieces and nephews.

   Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Loree Jackson, Edna Deckard and Lucille Shaw and two brothers Harl Jackson and Mitchell Jackson.

   Funeral services will be Monday, July 25, 2022, 12:00 noon at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 25, 2022, 10:00 A.M. until time of service at noon.

Joseph Albert Wise

 


   Joseph Albert Wise, age 55 of Glasgow passed away July 11, 2022 at his residence. He was born January 17, 1967 in Bonneville, Ky. to William Wise and the later Francis Clardy Wise and was of the Baptist faith.   In addition to his father, he is survived by one sister Patricia and two brothers Charlie and Joshua.

   There currently no services scheduled as cremation was chosen.

Stevie Huff

 

    Stevie Huff, age 67, of Glasgow passed away July 14, 2022 at his residence. He was born May 21, 1955 in Willow Shade to the late Girtle “Brown” Huff and Taylor Huff.

    He is survived by one sister, Sheila Garmon of Marrowbone and several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by brothers, Bobby Huff, Marvin Huff, and Donald Huff; and sisters, Linda Huff, Rachel Ballard, and Betty Neilander.

      Graveside services will be Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Old Mt. Herman Cemetery.

Terry Ann Shirley


  Terry Ann Reece Shirley, age 68, of Edmonton, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Born September 11, 1953, in Edmonton, KY she was a daughter of the late Weldon Eugene Reece and Dorothy Maxine Garland Reece.

   She worked as a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors include her spouse, Bobby Joe Neal; two daughters, Brandy (Les) Bryant, Cave City, and Sherry (Chris) Phelps, Edmonton; one son, Sean Shirley, Glasgow; two sisters, Marjorie (Sid)  Ritter, Glasgow and Lisa Bryant, Knob Lick; three brothers, Roger Dale (Glenda) Reece, Glasgow, Mike (Sarah) Reece, Glasgow and Stephen Reece, Edmonton; sixteen grandchildren, Brittany, Justin, Destinie, Logan, Kailey, Connor, Mason, Aubrey, Madison, Hayden, Kourtlynn, Jordy, Maverick, Kensie, Layton, and Taylon; two great grandchildren, Braxton, Bentley and Clark;  three stepchildren, Adam (Becca) Neal,  Eric Neal and Chad Neal.

 In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by two brothers Johnny and Danny Reece and one grandchild Noah Phelps

   Funeral services will be Monday, July 18, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade with Bobby Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the Light House Community Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 17, 2022, 1:00-800 P.M. and on Monday, July 18, 2022 after 8:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Light House Community Cemetery

Wick Smith


 

 

   Wick Smith, age 62, of Tompkinsville passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the Monroe County Medical Center. Born March 29, 1960 in Indianapolis, IN he was a son of the late Wick Smith Sr and Ruth Stephens Smith.

   He was a farm worker.

   Survivors include three sisters, Betty Smith Pertires, AK, Hazel Witcher (Barry), Glasgow, KY and Carla Smith, Park City, KY; one brother, William Smith, Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.

   Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Smith Davis and Alice Smith Hamill.

   Funeral services will be Friday, July 15, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Darrick Proffitt officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will be Friday, July 15, 2022, 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00 A.M.

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral fund.

Susan Ann Fuller

 

   Susan Ann “Marquart” Fuller, age 64, of Summer Shade passed away July 12, 2022 at NHC of Glasgow. She was born February 28, 1958 in Trumansburg, NY to the late Leona “Murphy” and John Marquart. Susan , or Suzie as her family and friends knew her, worked as a retail lending officer for MSI Mortgage Company. Suzie had many hobbies that she loved to do. She loved gardening and knitting, and canning. She was a loving wife, mother, grand mother, sister, and friend to many and will be dearly missed.

    Survivors include her loving husband of many years, Mike Fuller; Daughter, Tammy Glover, three sons; Michael Fuller, Timothy Fuller and John Hughes; one sister, Stacey Marquart Ward, twelve grandchildren, and four great grandchildren also survive.

    Cremation was chosen by the family and no services are scheduled for the present time.

Virgil Copas


 

  Virgil Lee Copas, age 75, of Tompkinsville passed away July 11, 2022 at the Hospice House at Bowling Green. He was born January 2, 1947 in Tompkinsville to the late Eunice Marie “Vibbert”and Joe Jefferson Copas. Virgil proudly served his country with twenty one years of service in the U.S Army and Army National Guard combined. Along side his military career, Virgil also had been employed with Stephens Manufacturing.

    He is survived by his loving wife, Betty “Smith” Copas of Tompkinsville; son, Robert J. Copas and wife Linda of Tompkinsville; step daughters, Betty J. Hunter and husband Billy of Tompkinsville, Lisa Walker and husband Junior of Gamaliel, Sheila F. Brown of Pulaski, TN, Janea C. Ray of Lebanon, TN; step son, Joey Brown and wife Betty Joe of Barren County, KY; one brother, Freddie Copas of Tompkinsville; three sisters, Joyce Pedigo of Tompkinsville, Betty Pennington of Hestand, KY, Barbara Sue Stewart of Tompkinsville, granddaughter Munchkin Copas; seven step grandchildren; and nine step great grandchildren also survive.   

  In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by grandson, William Elliot Brown; sisters, Glathey Elizabeth Strode and Stella Price; brothers, Charlie Copas, Roy Wayne Copas, John David Copas, and Gary “Frosty” Copas.

      Funeral services will be Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Calvin Johnson officiating. Burial to follow in the Basil Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 4:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, and will continue on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 8:00 A.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M.

      In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Basil Cemetery.

Betty Jean "Wilson" Coomer


 

Betty Jean Coomer, age 71, of Edmonton passed away July 05, 2022 at her residence. She was born June 15, 1951 in Adair County to the late Mary Pearl “Sneed” and Ernest Wilson. Betty was married to Billy Coomer, who survives her. She was employed at Sumitomo in Edmonton for 25 years and was a member of Society Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

    In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Lisa Rutherford and husband Chris of Smiths Grove; two sons, Greg Coomer of Edmonton, and Donnie Coomer and wife Melody of Edmonton, one sister, Nona Murphy of Illinois; two brothers, David Wilson of Edmonton and Jerry Wilson of Adair County; seven grandchildren, Dakota Rigsby and wife Tara, Taylor Welchel and husband Wil, Kassie Matthews and husband Jewell, Kyle Coomer, Tyler Coomer, Emma Coomer, and Karrah Boles and husband Aaron; seven great- grandchildren also survive.

      In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by one son, Jeff Coomer.

      Funeral services will be Friday, July 8, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Adair County with Sammy Norris officiating. Burial to follow in the Coomer Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 4:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M at McMurtrey Funeral Home, and will continue on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M at the church.

James (Tim) Thomas


 

   James Timothy “Tim” Thomas, age 58, of Nobob passed away July 03, 2022 at his residence. He was born January 23, 1964 in Glasgow to the late Clarine “Combs” and Jessie Thomas Sr. Tim was a GM certified Diesel and transmission mechanic for over 31 years, his favorite place to work being Tompkinsville Motors; where he worked for sixteen years. He was loving and caring husband, daddy, and poppy.

    Survivors include his wife Brenda “Stephens” Thomas of Nobob; three daughters Heather “Thomas” Aument and husband David of Glasgow, Joni Merrrit and husband B.J of Lucas, KY, and Candy Evans and husband Wayne of Lucas, KY; one son, Chris of Glasgow; two sisters, JoAnn Gumm and husband John Gordon of Harrodsburg ,Teresa Lewis and husband Nick of Savanna, TN; one brother, Jessie Thomas Jr. and wife Martha Nell of Nobob; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Jayden, Makayla, Spencer, Will, Jax, Sophia, Ethan, and Roselynn; three great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

      In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by one sister, Kathy Thomas.

      Funeral services will be Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 4:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. and will continue on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M.

Bobby Dale Parnell


    Bobby Dale Parnell, age 70 of Summer Shade passed away July 03, 2022 at T.J Samson Community Hospital. He was born June 09, 1952 in Glasgow to the late Birdie “Fields” and J.T. Parnell.

    Survivors include his wife Dana “Grider” Parnell of Summer Shade, one daughter Wendy Stephens and husband Jerry of Randolph; two sisters Becky Pike and husband Ricky of Georgia and Sheila Reece of Knob Lick; two brothers, Jay Parnell and wife Martha of Knob Lick and Micah Parnell and wife Jenny of Sulphur Wells; one grandson, Chase Stephens of Randolph.

     In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death one brother Tommy Parnell.

      Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 3:00 at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Josh Grider officiating. Burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 9:00 A.M until time of service at 3:00 P.M.
