Janis Opal " Gilbertson" Boggs

Janis Opal “Gilbertson” Boggs, age 95, of Burkesville, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022. She was born in Racine, Wisconsin on February 25, 1927 to the late Gustivson and Precious Mazie “Nutter” Gilbertson. She was married to Willis G. Boggs, and he preceded her in death. Janis was retired from employment with the Racine Police Department as a Parkette. She was a member of the Master Gardeners Club and the Quilting Guild of Burkesville. Janis was also a world traveler and enjoyed trips around the world.

She is survived by daughter, Deborah Honeyman and husband Benjamin of Burkesville; one son, Edward Boggs and wife Laura of Florida; daughter-in-law, Susan Boggs of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Tammy Hoisington and husband Andrew, Michael Boggs and wife Jessica, Paul Boggs and wife Lauren, all of Wisconsin, Angela Nicole Jones and husband Lance of South Carolina, Angela Marie McCormick and husband Bruce and Cory Honeyman and wife Erica, both of Kentucky; several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

   In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death one son, William Boggs, grandson Benjamin Honeyman IV; one granddaughter, Jessica Maltz., seven sisters and two brothers.

   A visitation will be held on Friday, May 06, 2022 from 10 A.M until 12 P.M at the McMurtrey Funeral Home.

   In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Terry Michael Perkins

 

   Terry Michael Perkins, age 61, of Summersville, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022. He was born on September 10, 1960 to the Glen Perkins and the late Barbara Norris

In addition to his father he is survived by step mother, Vivian Perkins of Burkesville; One son, Michael Perkins and fiancé Haley Hunt of Tompkinsville; one brother, Doug “ Box Car” Perkins and fiancé Pauline Frye of Summer Shade; partner Charlotte Perkins; step daughters Angela(Pedro) Guerrero and Kim (Michael) Mitchell; one step-brother,  Ricky Finley and wife Brenda of Indiana; one step-sister, Teresa Manning and husband Chuck of Summer Shade; five grandchildren, Henry Lee Perkins, Gage Michael Perkins, Raylie Wilson, Rosie Wilson, and Isabella Saltsman and step grand children Savanah(Heather) Bryant, Michael Mitchell Jr, , Zechariah Mitchell, Dustin and John Hemphill, Dulce Guerrero Garcia, and Krystal Holtzclaw and several step great grandchildren

   In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death one step brother, Leroy Finley.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022 – 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Union # 2 Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. and will continue on Wednesday, April 27 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 P.M.

Harold Wayne Paull


 

   Harold Wayne Paull, age 88, of Summer Shade, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at his residence. He was born on July 08, 1933 to the late Dennis Dallas and Carrie Lee Shaw Paull. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Edmonton Worship Center.

  He is survived by his wife Dorothy Turner Paull of Summer Shade; three daughters, Kelly Bell and husband Robert of Edmonton, Amy Morgan and husband Todd of Burkesville, Jenny Paull Blankenship and husband Shane of Scottsville; daughter-in-law Robin Paull of Summer Shade; one sister, Bobbie White and husband Hartzel of Beaumont; Grandchildren, Jarred Paull and wife Kate, Jessica Priddy and husband Joe, Thomas Bell and wife Madison, Price Bell and fiancé Kellie Spence, Jackson Bell and fiancé Keeley Cohen, Molly Morgan, Joseph Paull Morgan, Shelby Pruitt and husband Aaron, Sydney Blankenship, and Rafe Blankenship; and three great grandchildren, Ava Paull, Jack Priddy, and Kenton Bell ; two sister –in- laws, Pearl Paull and Ollie Huff also survive.

   In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death one son- Rick Paull; and two brothers; Jack Paull and Leroy Paull.

   Funeral services will be Sunday, April 24, 2022 – 2:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Robbie Perkins and Brother Larry Noe officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. and will continue on Sunday, April 24 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 P.M.

  


Roger Dale Rhinehart

 

   Bro. Roger Dale Rhinehart, age 68, of Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born on September 17, 1953 to the late Millard Wayne “Mutt” and Mattie Thomblin Rhinehart.

  He was the loving husband of Pastor Rita Smith Rhinehart, who survives. Survivors other than his wife include five daughters, Jeanette Branley and husband Chris of Glasgow, Amanda Yeary and husband Junior of Indiannapolis, DeAnna Wilson and husband Wayne of Austin Tracy, Leanna Casey Rhinehart and fiancé Travis of Haywood, and Shurita Dillard of Louisville; two sons, Jason Myers of Houston, Texas, and Nakia Dillard of California; two brothers, Larry Rhinehart and wife Betty and Harry Jr. Rhinehart and wife Marry Ann; 21 Grandchildren, and several great grandchildren also survive

   Preceding him in death are three sisters Linda Ennis, Frances Edwards, and Sue Burton; and two brothers, William “Bunk” Rhinehart and Rondal Rhinehart.

   Funeral services will be Saturday, April 23, 2022 – 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Darrell Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Clack Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.,

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help with the funeral expenses. These may be made at the funeral home.

Joseph Adam Cartmill


 

 

   Joseph Adam Cartmill, age 40, of Woodburn, KY passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022.

Born June 15, 1981 in Glasgow, KY he was a son of Charles Cartmill, Summer Shade and Regina Wallen, Oakland, KY, both of who survive.

   He worked at Flowers Baking Company as district manager for Clarksville TN area.

   Beisides his parents he is survived by his step mother, Sharon Cartmill, one brother, Daniel Cartmill, Bowing Green; one sister Shannon (Lee) Fox, Summer Shade; four nephews, Tate Cartmill, Bradan Cartmill, Hunter Fox and Conner Fox; and one niece Savannah Cartmill.

   Funeral services will be Saturday, April 16, 2022, 1:00 PM at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brian Fox, officiating. Burial will be in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 16, 2022, 9:00 AM until time of services at 1:00.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Cemetery.

Lawrence Howard Wells

 Howard Wells, age 78, of Summer Shade, passed away on Saturday, April 09, 2022 at T.J Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. 

He was born on July 13, 1943 in Summer Shade, to the late Lawrence Howard and Ruba Elizabeth “Humble” Wells. Howard was a farmer and a member of the Summer Shade Christian Church.

 Survivors include two sisters, Judith Ostrander and husband Wayne of Shepherdsville, and Frances Alexander and husband Gilliam of Louisville; several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

   Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 12; at 11:00 A.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bother Bill Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the GeeHarveyCemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11 from 4-6 P.M. and on Tuesday, April 12, from 8 until service time at 11 at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

  Memorial contributions may be made to the GeeHarveyCemeteryand can be left at the funeral home.

Mable Lucy Jane Groce Birge


 

Mable Lucy Jane Groce Birge, age 81, of Summer Shade, passed away on Wednesday, April 06, 2022 at the University of Louisville Medical Center.

  She was born November 17, 1940 in Burkesville, KY, to the late Boo and Thelma Hogan Groce. She was a member of the Refuge Church of Christ.

  Survivors include two daughters, Lesa White and husband Rickey and Karen Eaton and husband Terry both of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Brandon White, Whitney Norris and husband Brandon, Kathy Gosser and husband Eric, and Tyler Warren; two great- grandchildren, Hunter and Logan Norris.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David Birge; and one sister, Sally Farmer.

   Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 09, at 1:00 from the Refuge Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery. Brother Danny Wyatt will officiate the funeral services. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 08 from 4-8 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Saturday, April 09, from 10 until service time at 1 at the Refuge Church of Christ.

  Memorial contributions may be made to the White Cemetery and can be left at the funeral home.

   Terri Nicole “Matthews” Anderson, age 47, of Albany, passed away Saturday, April 02, 2022 at her residence. She was born January 28, 1975 in Glasgow, KY to the late Donald and Bonnie “Marr” Matthews.

   Survivors include one daughter, Raven Anderson; one son, Nicholas Anderson; and one sister Tracy Matthews of Glasgow.

   Graveside services will be Friday, April 08, 2022 – 11:00 A.M. at the Casey Fork Cemetery.

   Joe Lee Martin, age 79, of Edmonton, passed away Monday, April 04, 2022 at T.J Samson Community Hospital. He was born April 05, 1942 in Barren County, KY to the late Buford and Minnie Forrest Martin.

   Survivors include his wife, Shirley Smith Martin of Edmonton; one daughter, Robin Garmon (Steve) of Summer Shade; one son, Raymond Martin (Connie) of Edmonton; four grandchildren, Rhiannon Garmon (Derek Mills), Dalton Martin (Bethany Wheeler), Michael Garmon (Cheyenne Perry), and Reagan Harbison (Hunter); two great-grandchildren, Kason and Kambree Harbison; one step-brother Billy Joe Jennings of Glasgow, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

   In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Glenna Ruth Hamalian.

   Funeral services will be Thursday, April 07, 2022 – 10:00 A.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Dale Copas officiating. Burial will follow in the Gee Harvey Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 06, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and on Thursday, April 07, 2022 after 8:00 A.M until service time at 10:00 A.M.
