Doug Bartley

 

 

   Douglas [Doug] Turner Bartley, age 59, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at T J Samson Hospital.

   Born September 12, 1961 in Glasgow, KY, he was a son of Orval Turner Bartley, Summer Shade and Donnita Spear Bartley, Summer Shade, who survive.

   Doug was a heavy equipment operator and a farmer. He was a Christian.

   Survivors, other than his parents, include one sister Tema (Jeff) Noel, Nebraska; two brothers, Donald (Tammy Phillips) Bartley, Summer Shade and Danny (Larissa] Bartley,  Summer Shade;  special friend, Robin Paull; one grandchild Kimber Matthews and step sister Stephanie(Daniel) Davis

   Funeral services will be Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Larry Noe officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery.          

   A walk through visitation will be Saturday, January 16, 2021, 12:00 noon-8:00 P.M. and on Sunday, January 17, 2021 after 8:00 A.M. until time of services at 2:00.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Fire Department.

   Due to Covid restrictions face mask are required, limited seating and no food or drinks.

David White

 

  David Lee White, age 74, of Summer Shade, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at T J Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

   Born December 20, 1946, in Glasgow, he was a son of the late Ernest [Slick] and Geneva White. He was the husband of Kathy Woodrum White for 52 years, who survives.

   He was a electrician who was medically retired after 17 years at SKF Company. He was a faithful member and clerk of the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church. He was a very proud United States Air Force veteran, serving for 6 years. During his service he was stationed  in Thailand during the Viet Nam Conflict. He was the former Chairman of the Board of the Summer Shade Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years and a member of the board of the Summer Shade Cemetery.

   Survivors, other than his wife, include one son, Bryan White, Murfreesboro, TN; one granddaughter, Katie Beth White; 2 aunts, Ollie Huff and Mildred Fletcher; one niece, April Anderson and one nephew, Jeremy Anderson.

   Preceding him in death besides his parents, were a special aunt and uncle Howard and Bea Bow; one sister, Vicky Anderson and one niece, Shannon Anderson.

  Private family funeral services will be Friday, January 15, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church with limited seating. Services will be aired on 88.5 FM in the parking lot. Brother Chad Harston will be officiating the service, with burial to follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery, with military honors. A walk through visitation will be Thursday, January 14, 2021, 3:00-7:00 P.M. at the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church and on Friday after 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Volunteer Fire Department or a local veterans association.

   Due to Covid restrictions face mask are required as well as social distancing.

Paul Harvey Harper

 

   Paul Harvey Harper, 82, Edmonton, KY passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his residence.  Born November 13, 1938, in Edmonton, he was a son of the late Harvey Lee and Nora Jane (Jessie) Harper. He was the husband of Jill Acree Harper, who survives.

   He was the owner of Harper Well Services and attended Belleview Church of Christ.

   Survivors other than his wife include, one daughter Jan (Clay) Hunt, Monroe County; two sons, Joseph Todd Harper, Edmonton, and William Dale (Brandy) Harper, Glasgow; two step daughters, Susan Barton, Glasgow, and Anne (Gary) George, Edmonton; two step sons, Cam (Shelly)  Saltsman, Edmonton and Peter (Rose) Saltsman, Sulphur Well;   one sister, Betty (Larry) Cooksey, Bridgeport; one brother, Jessie (Debbie) Harper, Edmonton; seven grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and a special friend Charley Capshaw.

   Preceding him in death besides his parents was one son, Jerry Paul Harper and sisters, Liz White and Norma Watson.

   A memorial service will be held later.

   McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.
