Kimberly Nunnally

 


 

Kimberly Kay Compton Nunnally, 57 of Glasgow passed away Wednesday July 26, 2023 in Edmonton. She was born June 16, 1966 to the late Alfred Kenneth Compton and Shirley Geralds Compton.

 

She is survived by two children Othie Tyler (Shawna) Nunnally and Brianna Owens, two grandchildren Grace Nunnally and Dylan Nunnally, brothers Dale Compton and Billy Compton, and one sister Phyllis (Steve) Button.

 

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband Frankie Nunnally and a brother David Compton.

 

Cremation was chosen by the family and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Shelley 'Red" Davis

 

 

 

Shelley “Red” Glenn Davis 51, of Dubre passed away Wednesday July 26,2023 at Cumberland County Hospital. He was born November 2, 1971 in Burkesville to Glen Brown and the late Debbie Jane Brown. He loved fishing, hunting, looking for dry land fish, digging ginseng and ramps.

 

Survivors include his wife Ashley Davis, three sons Nicholas Davis, Jacob Davis, and Avery Davis, one sister Omega (Jacob) West, brother Ryan (Pam) Davis, nieces and nephews Bryce, Haley, Gerrick, Kaden, Colson, and Sophie, mother and father-in-law Clay and Lisa Huckelby.

 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. here at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mud Camp Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and on Sunday until the time of service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made for funeral expenses.

Phillip Beauchamp

 



 

Phillip Beauchamp 65, of Glasgow passed away Thursday July 20,2023 at TJ Samson Hospital. He was born April 2,1958 in Edmonton to the late Charles Beauchamp and Olene Watt Beauchamp.

 

Phillip was a member of Old Blue Springs Baptist Church and served has a deacon. He loved fishing and bird hunting.

 

Survivors include two sisters, Selma Johnson of Horse Cave and Kathyrn Carter of Burkesville. One brother Thomas Beauchamp of Hiseville. His aunt Juanita Franklin of Glasgow and a special friend Kevin (Denise) Clark. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

  

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Junior Beauchamp, sister Mary Shirley, nephew Shawn Beauchamp, and two brother in laws Ricky Johnson and Bobby Carter.

 

Funeral services will be held Monday July 24,2023 at 11:00 A.M at Old Blue Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow in Little Barren Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday July 23,2023 from 3:00 till 8:00 PM at the church and after 8:00 A.M. Monday morning until time of the service.

Charles Payne Simpson, Jr.


 

Charles Payne Simpson, Jr., 85, of Summer Shade, KY departed this life peacefully at his home on July 11, 2023. Charles was born in Metcalfe County, KY on March 15, 1938, the only son of the late Charles Payne and Lou Mae Word Simpson.

 

Anyone who knew Charles, was to know that he was a man of few words and a brilliant mind who excelled in all areas of engineering, mechanical and electrical applications. If he could dream it, he could build it. What most do not know is that he lived a full life with many unspoken achievements.

 

After graduating from Metcalfe County, he worked as a mechanic at Morgan’s Garage in Summer Shade. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He later moved south to the Virgin Islands with his cousin Richard Keen where they helped build the first airport runway.

 

Charles was a licensed pilot and worked at McMurtrey Quarry Company as a foreman. He later worked for SCRTC and retired after 35 years of dedicated service.

 

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Janie Lou Smith Simpson; a son Greg Simpson (Melissa); two daughters Vonda Pace (Brad) and Theda Whitlow (Michael); six grandchildren Gregory Ryan Simpson (Candice), Jarrod Wesley Simpson (Brittany), Sidney Elizabeth England (James Bishop), Quentin Tanner Pace, Sabashtyn Neal Bunch, and Gregory Sawyer Mosby; four great grandchildren June Hadley Simpson, Aida Wren Simpson, , Sadie Josephine Simpson, and Amelia Presley Bishop; a sister Martha Ellen Bowles; a brother-in-law Edward Smith (Sheila) and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Joe Bowles, mother and father-in-law Thurman and Louise Smith and a son-in-law Gregory Paul Mosby.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 15, 2023, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday after 10:00am at the funeral home.

Myrtle Young

 


 

Myrtle Louise Young, 76 of Edmonton passed away Saturday July 8, 2023 at her home. She was born May 3,1947 in Metcalfe County to the late Riley Davis and Erma Matthews Davis. She was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include one son Robert Alan Young of Sulphur Well, and one daughter Anita Jean (Boon) Matney of Exie.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Young, her daughter Rhonda Kaye Young, and her brothers and sisters Freeman Franklin Davis, Della Bea Davis, Billie Bob Davis, Arlo Emerson Davis, Frona Francis Finn, Bertha Delia Jones, Rachel Bernice Milby, Riley Angela Davis, Daniel Matthew Davis, Shelby Jean Coffey and Flevel Sidney Davis.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11,2023 at 1:00 P.M. here at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow at the Smith Cemetery.

Elizabeth Ann Blythe


 

Elizabeth Ann Blythe, age 71 of Glasgow passed away July 6, 2023, at Barren County Health and Rehab. She was born November 19, 1951, to the late Lealon and Louise Glass Fletcher. She was of the Baptist Faith.

   Survivors include two sons Chris (Melissa) Blythe and Andy (Jeanie) Blythe of Glasgow; Five grandchildren Shenee (Justin) Parsons, Heaven (Dylan) Harper, Brianna, Landon and Braxton Blythe; and seven great grandchildren; one sister Connie (Skeets) Biggerstaff of Nobob and one brother Jackie (Mary) Fletcher of Glasgow.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Johnny Fletcher and her life long special friend Chick Bryant.

Funeral services will be held Sunday July 9, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday July 8. 2023 from 3:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and after 8:00 A.M. on Sunday till funeral time of 2:00.

 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
