Lucille McCoy

Lucille McCoy, age 92 of Summer Shade,died Friday, December 10, 2010 at Glenview Health Care Center. She was a homemaker and a daughter of the late Westerfield and Cassie Lester Kingrey.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda True White of Summe Shade and Melissa (Jeremy ) Jones of Glagow; one son ,Dwayne (Shelvy) McCoy of Summer Shade; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren; one sister, Pernie McCoy of Summer Shade.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James McCoy, one brother, Lynn Kingrey and two sisters, Ruth Shaw and Nellie B acon.
Funeral services were Sunday, December 12 at 1:00 PM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bro Maxie Harper officiating. Burial was in theSummer Shade Cemetery.
McMurtrey Funeral Home was in chargeof arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Fund.

JOHN DALE YOUNG

John Dale Young, age 41 of Edmonton, died Sunday, December 5 at his home.  He was a carpenter and a son of the late Albert and Sarah Young.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Shaw Young;  one daughter,Emily Young;  three sisters, Rhonda (Maxie) Caffee of Hiseville, Nancy (Danny Joe) Edwards of Greensburg, and Ruth (Tracy) Romines of Edmonton;  mother and father-in-law, Debra and Dwight Daugherty;  grandmother-in-law, Emma Hughes, sister-in-law Pam (Gary ) Hunt;  five nieces, one nephew and one great nephew.
In addition to is parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Mr.Young chose cremation.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Grace Union Baptist Church.

Dixie D High.

Dixie D. High, age 79 of Indianapolis, In. and formerly of Kokomo, In. passed away Thursday,  December 2 at her residence in Indianapolis.  She was born May 3, 1931 in Indianapolis, In. to the late Newton and Myrtie (Davidson ) Shepherd. Dixie had worked at different Department Stores throughout her years.
Surviving is a son, Joe High, Jr. Kokomo, daughters and sons in law,Madonna Johnson, Greentown, Melissa and Ralph Ryker,Kokomo, Melinda and Sonny Mayhew, Langloth, Pa. Marieta and Michael Adkins, Woodlawn, Tn. and Martina Hanley, Newport Richey,Fla.  twenty one grandchildren, one adopted grandson, thirty six greatgrandchildren, brother, Edwad Shepherd, Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, one sister and five brothers.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM (CST) Tuesday, December 7 in Skaggs Creek Cemetery ,Tompkinsville, meeting at the McMurtrey Funeral  Home at 10:00 AM to travel to the cemetery..
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday (EST) Dec. 5 at Ellers Mortuary, Webster St. Chapel, Kokomo,In.

EMMA JEAN MULKEY (BUCKLEY)

Emma Jean Mulkey (Buckley), age 77 of Argos, In., formerly of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Dec. 1 at Millers Merry Manor in Plymouth, In. She was a daughter of the late Pearl Vaughn of Glasgow.
She is survived by two sons, Joe (Wanda) Dugard and Billy Buckley both of Indiana;  one daughter, Beverly (Doug ) Walker of Summer Shade;  six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; a special niece, Diane Voignier of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and her mother.
Funeral servces will be Sunday, Dec.5 at 2:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Hiseville Cemetery.
Visitation  will begin Saturday, Dec. 4 aat 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Johnny H . Shaw

Johnny Howard Shaw, age 63 of Edmonton, died Sunday, Nov. 28 at home.  He was a son of the late Leslie and Pauline Melson Shaw.  He was a retired farmer and construction worker.
He is survived by his wife, Myrie Scott Shaw;  one son, Steve (Connie )Shaw of Dickson, Tn;  three daughters,Vicky (Harold ) Morgan, Sheri (Scotty ) Likens , both of Glasgow and Kimberely (Ricky ) Mosby of Edmonton;  one brother, Donnie Shaw of Bowling Green;  grandchildren, Callista and Telem Shaw and Tori Morgan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jason Shaw.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 2:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral  Home with Bro Dexter Bacon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, No. 30 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

UREY GOSSETT

Urey Gossett,age 101 of Summer Shade, died Tuesday, Nov. 23 at the Metcalfe Co. Health Care Center.
He was a retired farmer and furniture refinisher and a son of the late William Eli and Cora Lee Witty Gossett.
He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. He is survived by two sons, Joe W. Gossett and wife, Lougene of Summer Shade and William Gossett and wife,Liz of Beaufort, South Carolina; one sister, Velma Moore of Summer Shade;  four grandchildren, Debbie (Clay )Scott, Rhonda (Steve) Thompson,Carrie (Lance) Hall and Stacey (Charles ) Robinson;  eight great grandchildren, Nathan Acree, Ashley Gallagher, Sarah Scott, Tara Thompson, Kayla Thompson, Jarrod and Jordan Hall and Reed Robinson;  three great, great grandchildren, Tanner and Trigg Acree and Griffin Gallagher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife,Beatrice Nunnally Gossett, one sister, Neva Nunnally, one brother, Ewing Gossett and an infant brother, Clyde Gossett.

Marvin Lee Norris, age 66 of Tompkinsville, died Saturday,Nov. 20 at the Monroe Co. Medical Center.  He was a retired logger and a son of the late Stanley and Odell Ballard Norris.
He is survived b y two daughters, Angelal(Freddie) Whiteof Tompkinsville and Betty(Joe) Brown of Summer Shade;  three sons, Mickey Russell of Tompkinsville, Paul(Stephanie) Norris of Tompkinsville, Melvin Lee(Stephanie) Norris Oakland,Il.,  four sisters, Mildred Combs of Tomplkinsville, Linda Arterburn of Flippin, Betty Muse and Phyllis Muse both of Tompkinsville;  fivebrothers, Jimmy, Russell and Travis Norris allof Tompkinsville, Phillip(Lois) Norris of Summer Shade and Larry (Janie) Norris of Orlinda, Tn; 15grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by brothers, Alton, Darrell Wayne  and James Elvin Norris and sisters, Joyce Radford and Ruby Mae Norris.

Darrell Preston Harper, age 73 of Summer Shade, died Wednesday, Nov. 10 at the T J Samson Community Hospital. He was a retired logger and a son of the late Ernest and Delphia Spears Harper. He was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.
He is Survived by his wife, Joyce Vibbert Harper; one daughter, Sheila(  Ed) Smith of Summer Shade; one son, Stevie Harper of Summer Shade;  four sisters,Lucille Page of Summer Shade, Regina Hurt and Linda(Joel) Hodges both of Tompkinsville and Kathryn (Cecil) Shaw of Livingston,Tn;  one brother, Phillip Harper of  Tompkinsville;  seven grandchildren,Suelena Smith, Michela (Josh) Page, Sierra (Kurtis) Swift, Cassie Smith, Joey Harper, R.D.Harper, and Brittany Harper;  four great grandchildren, Preston Page, Jayden Smith, Issas Smith, and Tristom Kade Swift;  step-grandchildren, Timmy and Ryan Purcell, Dillon Manyard, Latasha Jewell, Matt Skaggs and Amber Poynter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Otha Harper.
Funeral servicec will be Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hickory College Church of Christ with Bro Cecil Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, Nov. 12 at Noon.

Danny Ray(Groundhog) Westmoreland, age 56 of Summer Shade, died Saturday, November 6 at U of L Hospital. He was a son of the late TJ and Imogene Walker Westmoneland.
He is survived by his wife, Rena Bryant Westmoreland; one daughter, Crystal Westmoreland of Summer Shade; four sons, Shannon(Lori) Westmoreland of Glasgow, Nikki Westmoreland, T.J.(Ashley) Westmoreland, Dusty Westmoreland all of Summer Shade and one step-son Scotty(Kathy) Bryant of Summer Shade; three sisters, Diana (Bob) Manion of Louisville, Linda ( David) Polson and Janette (Mitchell) Perkins both of Edmonton, three brothers, Dale (Paula) Westmoreland and Davey (Donna) Westmoreland of Glasgow and Jackie Westmoreland of Edmonton. grandchildren Cleo, Gunner, Maylee, Taven and Brayden Westmoreland and Trevor Bryant.

Charlene Fletcher, age 62 of the Good Luck Community, died Saturday, Oct. 23 at home.  She was a daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle Estes Gibson.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Fletcher ; two sons, Terry and  Bengie Fletcher; two grandchildren, Dillon and Blake Fletcher;  four sisters, Rosie Matney of Greensburg,  Ruth Peden of Glasgow, Bonnie Edwards of Sulphur Well and Brenda White of  Edmonton.

Ida Cathrine Oliver Wood, age 76 of Glasgow, died Thursday, Oct. 21 at the T J Samson Community Hospital.  She was a daughter of the late Isaac and Susie Amyx Oliver and was a member of the Cornerstone Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Lewis of Glasgow;  two sons, Elvin (Nancy) Glass  and Tim(Tabitha) Glass both of Glasgow;  four grandchildren, Angie Glass Smith,Krissy Lewis Paker, Chris Mosby and Dana Vibbert;  three great grandchildren, Kennedy Parker, Clayton and Rebecca Smith;  two sisters, Lois Riley and Pearl Jennings both of Glasgow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Ross and Naomi Glass,one son Randell Joe Glass,two brothers,Walter and Marion Oliver and two sisters, Nettie May Kingrey and Idell Parks and a special cousin,Lou Lawson.

Cloe Eva Vibbert age 73 of Summer Shade,died Friday, October 8 as the result of an automobile accident. She was a daughter of the late Charlie  and Pearlie Hagan Blankenship and was a member of the Willow Shade Church of Christ.
She is survived by three daughters, Peggy(Jeff) Jewell of Hardyville, Carolyn (Eddie) Nunnally of Glasgow and Melissa (Keason) Chapman of Glasgow; four grandchildren,Timothy (Bridget) Strode, Megan Nunnally, Kelissa and Keily Chapman, one step-grandchild, Emily Chapman;  two great grandchildren, Noah and Ian Strode;  two sisters, Joyce Harper of Summer Shade and Dorthy (Bernal) McCool of Dubre; one brother, Arlie Ralph Blankenship of Dubre.

Joe Alan Taylor, age 62 of  the Eighty Eight Community, died Monday, September 27 at the T J Samson Community. He was the son of the late Argie and Joe Bray Taylor and was retired as  Personnel Administrator for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He  was of the Bapatist Faith.

Myra  Gail Whitlow Rowlett, age 64 of Summer Shade, died  Thursday, September 16 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky.  She was a daughter of the late Robert and Helen Mackey Whitlow.  She was a member of the Summer Shade Baptist Church and the Summer Shade Fire Dept.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Rowlett, two daughters, Myra (Greg) Dubree of Summer Shade and Teresa (Donnie ) Gray of Carrolton, Ky; one son, Jeff(Ann) Rowlett of Edmonton; onesister, Carol June McMurtrey of Summer Shade; eight grandchildren,Jordan (Peanut ) Dubree, Tyler Dubree,Nathan (Sabrina) Rowlett of Edmonton,Marissa Rowlett, Gregory Carlton, Amber Rowlett, Damien Mikel and Bailey McClure;  four great grandchildren, Trevin Girdler, Brayton Girdler, Logan Carlton and Brianna Carlton.

FREEMAN MITCHELL BRANHAM

Freeman  Mitchell Branham,age 74of Summer Shade, died  Tuesdy, September 14 at H:ospice of Southern Ky in Bowling Green.  He wasason of the late Joe Bill and Delma Emberton Branham  and was a self employed carpenter.  He was of the Baptist Faith and was a Veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his children, Becky Dubree, Greg and Tammy Branham and his ex-wife and life long love, Anne Welsh all of Summer Shade;   four granddaughters, April (Alex) BrownTerran Pedigo, Candice and Hallie Branham;  two sisters, Besssie Holmes of Glasgow and Emogene Faith of Louisville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, Joe, Jesse and Magdaline who died in infancy, Pauline Hurt,Charles Branham, Lola Bell Bacon, Wilma Pickerell and Mildred Perkins.
He had 8 years total in the U S Army and Army Reserve, was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant and was very proud to have "soldiered" for his country. He was a masgter carpenter with a career spanning over 50 years and built countless homes and buildings all over this aea and took great pride in his  work.  A loving husband and father, favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews, "Pa" to his grandchildren, a good friend and neighbor to countless others, an honest and decent man who will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Daniel  I. Page, Sr. age 65 of Glasgow, died Friday, September 3, 2010 at the TJ Samson Community Hospital.  He was a son of the late Layton and Myrtle Froedge Page.

Alma Jean Goode,age 80 of Summer Shade, died Thusday, Sept. 2, at the T J Samson Community Hosital. She was a daughter of the late Taft and Mahala Gilley Bray. She was a member of the Dripping Springs
Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Tim(Margaret) Goode of Summer Shade;  two grandchildren, David and Mehaley Goode;  three sisters,Wandalene Page of Edmonton, Brenda Sue (Marvin) Devore of Edmonton and Gayle (Larry)Jessie of Summer Shade;  one brother,Kenneth Bray of Edmonton.

Thomas Max Martin, age 68 of Summer Shade died Thursday, Aug. 26 at home . He was a  son of the late  Wes Martin and Mary Dell Cary.He was a retired barber and spent most of  his time playing golf and gardening.He was at peace with the Lord and attended the Goodson Chapel Methodist Church.

Wendell Floyd Branham, age 21 of Edmonton, died Saturday, August 21 at his home.  He was a son of Katherine Thacker Long of Edmonton and Wendell Joe Branham of Burkesville In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Mitzi Branham and April Branham of Burkesville and Martha Long of Edmonton;  four brothers, Dillion Branham, Frankie Branham and Quentin Branham of Edmonton and Willie Branham of Burkesville  Several nieces and nephews also survive. Robert Norris Whitlow

Robert Norris Whitlow, age 73, of Summer Shade, departed this life on Tuesday, August 17 at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green. He was a member and deacon of Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church.
He was retired from Eaton Corp. and the Barren Co Health Dept.  He also served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife of fifty one years, Joan Smith Whitlow;  one son, Dr. Robert N:. Whitlow 11 and his wife Dr. Cheryl Whitlow of Glasgow;  daughters, Donna(Michael) Ross of Utica, Ky. and Nancy(John) Wells of Lexington; and Brenda Whitlow of Summer Shade. Grandchildren Travis, Emma, Molly and Heather Whitlow, Laura and Mason Ross; Step grandchildren, Jim(Jacquie) Ross and Barrett Ross and Kristin Wells;  Step great greatgrandchildren Will and Thomas Ross;  sisters, Carol June McMurtrey and Gail(Dale)  Rowlett both of Summer Shade;  sister in law, Sondra (Harry) Jackson; brothers in law, Royce (Anita) Smith and Kenneth( Mickey) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Helen Mackey Whitlow.

Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 19 from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beaumont Cemetery or the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church.

Reggie L Tooley

Reggie L. Tooley, age 80 of Tompkinsville, died Friday, August 6 at the Monroe Co. Medical Center. He was a retired farmer and a son of the late Brince and Jewell Rush Tooley.
He is survived by two nieces, Penny Pickering of Louisville and Debra Tooley of France; Caregiver and friend, Saralu White.
Graveside services will be held Saturday August 7, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Old Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Bro John Osgatharp will be officiating.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Douglas, John and Paul Tooley and one sister Janelle Tooley.
