PHILIP ALEXANDER STOUT

 

 

 

   Philip Alexander Stout, 25, of Glasgow, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at his residence.  Born December 6, 1995, in Indianapolis, IN he was the son of Melissa Ann Stout and James Thomas Brown.

   He worked as a mechanic and was a Christian.

   Survivors include his parents, Melissa Ann (Billy Hagan) Stout, Summer Shade and James Thomas (Tammy) Brown, Summer Shade; his son, Dax Alexander Stout; sisters, Catlin (Dalton Blythe) Stout, Tompkinsville and Emily Brown, Summer Shade; one brother, James Thomas Brown Jr, Summer Shade; four stepbrothers, Lee, Luke, Landon, and Lance Bemboom MN; grandmother, Letha Ridge, Glasgow; and two aunts, Barbara Craft and Betty Geralds.

   Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Carolyn Brown and Elmer Muse.

   Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020, 1:00 P.M.  at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Bean officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Basil Cemetery.  A walk through visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2020, 10:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.

   In lieu of flowers donations are encouraged to the funeral fund at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

   Due to Covid regulations face mask will be required.

Ronnie Berryman

 

Ronnie Joseph Berryman, age 64, of Glasgow, KY passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at NHC in Glasgow. Born September 12, 1956, he was a son of the late Roger and Ella Phillips Berryman.

Survivors include sons Matthew Berryman and Bradford Lee Berryman; and grandchildren, Benji, Alyssa and Remington Berryman.

A memorial service will be held at a later date as cremation was chosen.

Nathanael Jadon Huber


Nathanael Jadon Huber, 40, Gamaliel, KY, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Born September 8, 1980 in Ontario, Canada; he was a son of the late John Mark Huber and Ruby (Hannah) Huber, who survives. He was the husband of Patricia Hobson Huber.

   He worked as a carpenter.

   Survivors, other than his parents and wife, include daughters Ruby, Emma and Shelbey Huber; son Jadon Huber; eight sisters; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his father.

    Private burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery.

Bobby G Hagan

 

 

   Bobby G Hagan, 63, of Summer Shade, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Monroe County Medical Center. Born April 4, 1957 in Tompkinsville he was a son of the late George and Mary Jewell (White) Hagan.  On August 20, 1988 he married Barbara Smith Hagan, who survives.

   He worked as a factory supervisor for Kentucky Apparel and was a truck driver. He was a member of the Meshack Missionary Baptist Church.

   Survivors other than his wife, include sisters Patsy (Tim) Harper, Summer Shade, Brenda (Nelson) Gettings, Tompkinsville, and Sherry (Greg) Wheeler, Edinburgh, IN; mother in law, Ellen Smith; sister in law, Nancy Miller; nieces Cindy Day, Amy Miller, Jalyn Turner, and Brittany Piercefield; nephews, Bronson Bowker, Daniel Miller, and Kiefer Wheeler; step nephews, Kyle and Daniel Gettings; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

   He was preceded in death besides his parents, by one sister, Judy Mae Hagan; niece Jerica Hammer, and father in law, Clifton L Smith.

   Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 15, 2020 with limited attendance at  McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Stanley Wooten, officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mt Hermon Cemetery in Monroe County. A walk through visitation will be Monday, December 14, 2020, 2:00-8:00 P.M, and on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, 8:00- 12:00.

Marjorie Dean Young

  

   Marjorie Dean Young, 79, of Tompkinsville, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Norton’s Hospital. Born March 29, 1941 in Tompkinsville, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Polly Mae (Bridges) Young.

   Morjorie worked in factories and was a caregiver. She was a member of the Lyons Chapel Church of Christ.

   Survivors include nephews, Tim (Melissa) Young, Summer Shade, Stacy (Peggy) Young, Glasgow and David Young, Summer Shade;  nieces Letha (Doug) McPherson, Summer Shade and Karthina Cashin, Summer Shade; and brother in law, Clarence Geralds, Tompkinsville.

   Preceding her death besides her parents, were sisters, Thelma Key and Nellie Geralds, and brother, Guy Young.

   Due to restrictions from Covid-19 private services will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Jacob Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery

Teddy [Ted] Wayne Shive

 

 

   Teddy [Ted] Wayne Shive, 77, of Summer Shade, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at T J Samson Hospital. Born October 18, 1943, he was a son of the late James and Mary Belle (Estes) Shive and the husband of Ann Bunch Shive, who survives. They were married 54 years.

   Ted was raised on a farm and taught early the work ethic he used throughout his life. He was a founding member of the Summer Shade Volunteer Fire Department where he volunteered many years helping his neighbors and strangers in need. He was a member of Mt Moriah Church.

   Survivors other than his wife, include one daughter, Erica (Moe) Hensley, Summer Shade; two grandchildren, Max and Tatum Hensley;  brother, Gary (Lou) Shive, Summer Shade;  sister in law, Brenda (Charlie) Eddings; mother in law, Ovalee Finn;  nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Zack) Coleman, Mark (Lesley) Shive, Shannon (Sherry) Shive, Rickey (Monyonna) Shive, Pam (Mark) Ford, and Leslie (Greg) Warren; several great nieces and nephews.

   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother and sister in law, Don Roger and Inez Shive.

   Due to Covid restrictions all services will be private. Funeral services will be Friday, December 4, 2020, with Brother Chris Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery

   Memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Volunteer Fire Department.

Kathy Alexander

 

   Kathy K Dubre Alexander, of Gordon Nebraska, passed away at her residence on Friday, November 27, 2020. Born June 13, 1953,  she was the daughter, of the late Wallace and Ruby Vibbert Dubre. On February 23, 1973 she married the love of her life, Donald M Alexander, who survives. She was a loving health care worker for over 49 years

   She brightened a room when she walked in and had a special talent to make people feel better. She was a loving dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

   Survivors include besides her husband, two daughters, Frances [Maria] (Naaman) Mc Coy, of Somerset, KY and April Alexander, Scottsville, KY; one son, Dustin (Wendy) Alexander, Scottsville, KY; 14 grandchildren; and one brother Watson (Debbie) Dubre,

    Due to Covid restrictions, private funeral services will be Saturday, December 5, 2020, with Matthew Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Marrowbone Cemetery.

   Patricia Irene Alderson Wagner, 69, Beaumont, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at T J Samson Hospital.

   Born January 20, 1951, in Indianapolis, IN she was a daughter of the late William and Irene (Bowman) Alderson.

   Survivors include three sisters, Nora Hall, Indianapolis, Sherry Noel, Indianapolis, and Kathryn Muse, Beaumont; one brother, William Alderson Jr., Indianapolis; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

   Preceding her in death besides her parents, were her husband James Wagner; two daughters, Roxanna  and Rebecca Gray;and two brothers Kenneth and Jimmy Alderson.

   Due to Covid restrictions all funeral services will be private. Burial will be in the Beaumont Cemetery.

George Clifton Combs

 

 

   George Clifton Combs, 74, Dade City, FL formerly of the Mt Hermon Community passed away Friday, November 20, 2020. Born February 10, 1946 in Mt Hermon, he was the son of the late Rex and Laverne (Greer) Combs.

   He worked as machine operator and was a member of the Dover Missionary Baptist Church.

   Survivors include, his wife, Mary Mildred Huckelby Combs; one daughter, Susan (Collin) Haskett, Glasgow; one son, Jeffrey Combs, Glasgow; one sister, Linda (Roy) Steward, Glasgow; five brothers, Bobby (Sherry) Combs, Glasgow, Mike (Debra) Combs, Mt Hermon, Jimmy (Brandy) Combs, Ebenezer, Johnny (Brenda) Combs, Glasgow and Gary (Marie) Combs, Texas;  two grandchildren, Bradford and Matthew Berryman; and several nieces and nephews.

  Preceding him in death besides his parents were two brothers, Donald and Tommy Combs, one sister, Mary Lou Emberton, and several nieces and nephews.

   Due to restrictions from Covid-19, all services will be private. Burial is in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Renita Gay Houk Jackson

 

 

   Renita Gay Houk Jackson, age 60, of Edmonton, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 in the Medical Center Bowling Green.

   Renita was born July 3, 1960 to the late Bobby Joe and Shelia Hensley Houk.

   Renita graduated from Metcalfe County High School in 1978. She married the late William Darrell Jackson on August 30, 1991.

   She was a retired radiology tech and of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors include two daughters, Brittany (Tiffany) Rigsby, Glasgow and Brianna (Andrew) Robbins, Knob Lick; one step daughter, Angela (Tommy) Smith; one niece, Kara (Britt) Young; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchild, that she loved with all her heart; and two life long friends, Diana Martin and Laurie Butler.

   In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Kristen England and Tara Hodge and one sister Sonya Page.

      Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday, November 17, 2020, 2:00 P.M. at White Chapel Cemetery, with Brother Dale Copas officiating. A walk through visitation will be Monday, November 16, 2020, 4:00-8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, November 17 after 8:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.

   Due to Covid regulations face mask are required, temperature will be taken,  social distancing encouraged and no food or drinks allowed.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the White Cemetery.

Jack Demsey Acree

 

   Jack Demsey Acree, age 88, of Edmonton passed away November 3, 2020 at NHC Healthcare.

   He was an Army veteran and served in Germany.

   Jack was the second child born to the late Ledford Morris Acree and Laura Harper Acree of Edmonton.

   Jack married Kitty Sue Compton also of Edmonton who survives.

   Together they had two children who survive Peter (Ann) Acree of Summer Shade and Jill (Paul) Harper of Edmonton, eight grand children, twenty great grandchildren and one great great great-grandchild. One sister Meriel Bunch of Edmonton

   Special caregivers; Son Peter Acree, Michelle Hamilton and Deana Dyer.

   A private family funeral service will be held Thursday November 5, 2020 at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Foundation Cemetery near Edmonton.

   A walkthrough visitation will be held Thursday November 5, 2020 from 11:00 Am till time for the funeral at 1:00 pm.

   Face masks are required, temperatures will be taken and no food or drink will be allowed in the funeral home. Everyone must social distance.

   Della Frances Hurt Strode, 85, Tompkinsville, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 at her home. Born March 19, 1935 in Willow Shade, KY she was a daughter of the late N C and Sally (Shaw) Hurt.

   She worked in sewing factories and was of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors include daughters, Joyce (Terry) Blythe, Brandenburg and Barbara (Mickey) White, Marrowbone;  sons Jody Strode, Tompkinsville and Kenny (Sylvia) Strode, Ft Run; one sister, Minnie Pearl Bryant, Edmonton; grandchildren, Stephen and Michael Blythe, Angie Tucker, Mark Strode, Michell Norris, Mary Blankenship, Tyler Simpson, and Timothy Dale Strode; several great grandchildren; and special friend, Patricia Copas.

   Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her husband, James Edward Strode; son, Jackie Strode; daughter, Betty Blankenship; sisters, Oshea Huff and Hilda Lynn; and brothers Buddy Hurt and Paul Ballard.

   A private family funeral will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020 at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Darrell Bartley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Monroe County. A walk through visitation will be Saturday, October 24, 2020, 3:00-7:00 P.M. and on Sunday, October 25, 2020 after 8:00 A.M. until time of services at 2:00.

   Sylvia Johanna Goodwin Fugate, 63, Beaumont, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family. 

   Born August 30, 1957 in Clermont, FL she was the daughter of the late Beatrice Goodwin and Chester Goodwin Sr.                                                                                                                                       She worked as a licensed insurance agent for 37 years and was of the Baptist faith.

   She is survived by her husband, Cash Fugate; her son, Cash (Kelly) Fugate Jr; her daughters Valine (Earl) Fadling, and Joleen Fugate; two brothers, Chester Goodwin Jr, and William Hank Goodwin; two sisters, Terry Roberts, and Tina Hill; her grandchildren, Dillan Fadling, William Oberhaus Jr, Matthew Fadling, Caleb Oakley, Victoria Smith, Oaklee Fugate, Kelsey Shive, Tanon Taitingfong and Mindy; and one great grandchild, Wrangler Lane Poynter.

   Preceding her in death was her sister Melinda Boyd and her uncle Frank Parrish.

   Graveside funeral services will be Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Beaumont Cemetery. A walk through visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2020, 11:00 A.M.-12:30 P.M.

              Stanley Earl (Sonny) Williams Jr, 88, of Glasgow, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at his residence.

   Born July 9, 1932 in Burkesville, KY he was a son of the late Stanley Hewitt and Rosie (McFarland) Williams and the husband of 67 ½ years of Sally McCoy Williams, who survives. He was a farmer and a member of the Coral Hill Baptist Church. He was veteran of the United States Army.

   Survivors other than his wife, include one daughter, Margaret (Billy) Soards, Glasgow; one granddaughter, Melissa Gibson, Glasgow; one great granddaughter, Heather Emmitt; one great great grandson, Landon Rippy; step granddaughters, Angela (Jeremy) Copas and Amanda (Tommy Mills) Soards; step great grandchildren, Andrea (Tommy Caffee) Mutter, Ariel Cotton, and Allison Cotton; and several nieces and nephews.

   Preceding him in death, besides his parents, were 4 brothers, Lester, Marvin, Russell and Cecil Williams; four  sisters Letha Godsea, Ruby Glackman, Nellie Westmoreland and Dora Wiley.

   Private funeral services, with limited seating, will be Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Refuge Cemetery. A walk through visitation will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2020, 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, after 8:00 A.M. until time of the funeral at 1:00 P.M.

   Ruth Gean Groce Smith Capps, 88, Summer Shade, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at T J Samson Hospital. Born July 20, 1932 in Peytonsburg, KY she was a daughter of the late John and Noxie (Perkins) Groce.

   Ruth worked at sewing factories and farmed. She was an active member of her community helping with Beaumont Cemetery, Branstetter Park, and an active member of the Goodson Chapel Methodist Church.

   Survivors include one brother Preston (Judy) Groce, Edmonton; 2 step sons, Stevie (Glenda) Capps, Summer Shade and Phillip (Rachel) Capps, Shepherdsville; nieces, Connie Jo (Kenny) Humes and Sharon Norris (Chuck); great niece and nephew Casey (Brian) Brown and Kaleb Humes; great great niece, Hadley Humes; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

   Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her 2 husbands, Rondell Smith and James Capps; one brother Ewing Groce; and sister Betty Norris.

   A private family funeral, with limited capacity, will be held Sunday, October 18, 2020, 2:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brothers Joe Wilcoxson and Meryl Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery.  A walk through visitation will be Saturday, October 17, 2020, 4:00-8:00 P.M. and on Sunday, October 18, 2020, 8:00 A.M.-1:30 P.M.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beaumont Cemetery at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

   Kristen Danielle Garrett England, 39, Horse Cave, Ky passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her residence.  Born October 9, 1980 in Glasgow, KY she was a daughter of the late Dale Garrett and Renita Houk Jackson, who survives. She was the wife of Jamie Davie England, who survives.

    She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors other than her husband and morther, include 5 daughters, Ashtyn  Johnson, Knob Lick, Jadyn Johnson, Glasgow, Braelyn Johnson, Glasgow, Taegyn England, Edmonton , and Lauren (Kenneth)   Hopkins, VA; two sons, Korbyn England, Edmonton, and Jacob England, Franklin; two sisters, Brittany Jackson, Glasgow and Brianna (Andrew) Robbins,  Knob Lick;          ; one brother, Bryan Garrett, Edmonton; one grandchild, Kassian Hopkins; sister in law, Kirby England, Edmonton;  brother in law, Jeremy (Brooke) England, Russell Springs and best friend of 25 years, Kathy Smith.

   Preceding her death besides her father, were her sister, Tara Hodge, step father, Darrell Jackson, grandparents, Holland and Aline Garrett and aunt, Sonya Page.

    A walk through visitation will be Friday, October 9, 2020, 3:00 PM..-8:00P.M.and on Saturday, October 10, 8:00 A.M. – noon. A graveside service will be held at Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens, Saturday October 10, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. with Brother Stoney McKinney officiating.

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral fund at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

  Patricia J. Harris, 85, of Center, KY passed away October 5, 2020 at T J Samson Hospital. Born December 18, 1934 in Chicago, IL she was a daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Oechael) Smith. She was the widow of the late Robert (Lefty) Harris.

   She was of the Catholic faith.

    Survivors include two daughters, Jacquline Sloan and Della Parsley; 4 sons, Patrick Walker, Willis Walker, Robert Walker, and Larry Walker; one sister Darleen Suezas; and two brothers, Joseph Smith and George Smith.

   Preceding her in death besides her parents are husbands Willis (Jack) Walker and Robert (Lefty) Harris and sister Carol Niles.

   No services will be held at this time as cremation was chosen.

Anthony (Tony) Wayne Garrett


 

 

 

   Anthony (Tony) Wayne Garrett, Glasgow, formerly of Summer Shade, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at N H C Health Care. Born June 12, 1965 in Glasgow, he was a son of the late Paul and Mary Garrett.

   He was a heavy equipment operator and of the Methodist faith.

   Survivors include one son, Mcshane Garrett, Summer Shade; one daughter Mahogany (Derek) Staples, Glasgow; two sisters Rendy ( Ronnie Joe)  Perkins, Glasgow and Marketta Acree, Glasgow; three brothers, Steve (Sandy) Garrett, Bowling Green, Mark (Alicia) Garrett, Summer Shade and Kenny (Sheryl) Garrett, Mt Hermon; two grandchildren, Ella Kay and Stone Staples; and several nieces and nephews.

   Preceding him in death, besides his parents, were two brothers, Robbie and Mike Garrett.

   Visitation will be Saturday, October 3, 2020, 3:00- 8:00 P.M.- Sunday, October 4, 2020, 8:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M at McMurtrey Funeral Home.  A private immediate family funeral will be held, with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Brother Darrick Proffitt will be officiating.

Janet Nunnally


    Janet Lynette Martin Nunnally, age 84 of Bowling Green, formerly of  Summer Shade, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020 at her residence.

   Born February 4, 1936 in Summer Shade, she was a daughter of the late Bessie (Hurt) and Tommy Martin. She was the widow of William Gerald Nunnally who preceded her in death on June 8, 2020.

  She was retired secretary for the Kentucky State Police and of the Methodist faith.

  She is survived by one daughter, Marla Ingram of Bowling Green; one grand daughter C. J. (Levent) Kellar of Ohio; two great grandchildren William and Zoe Kellar; and several nieces and nephews.

  A private graveside service will be held later with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery.

  Diana Jean Travis, age 69, of the Nobob community passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Earl Lynch and Betty Jean Smith Lynch.

   Mrs. Travis was a Homemaker and of the Lutheran Faith.

   She is survived by her husband, Garry Travis; one daughter, Anna (Omar) Pavon of Eighty Eight; one son, Sean Medina of Summer Shade; one brother, Leslie Earl Lynch Jr. and eleven grandchildren also survive.

  Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Timothy Lynch and one grandson, Omar Pavon Jr.

  Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Thor Kristofer Eddy, age 53 of Millwood, KY passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at his residence. He is the son of Ray Eddy and Ruth Rodgers. Mr. Eddy was of the Christian faith and worked in the automotive industry. He is survived by one daughter, Beth Eddy; one son, Kristofer Eddy; one brother, Nathan Eddy; and one grand daughter, Mackenzie Crawford. He is preceded in death by a brother, Jason Eddy.

No services are scheduled at this time as cremation was chosen.

Eddie Ford

     Eddie Daryl Ford Sr, 70, of the Nobob Community, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020, at his residence. Born September 27, 1949 in Glasgow, he was a son of the late Alonzo Ford and Dora Farley Ford Bray. On February 27, 1970 he married Martha Lawson Ford, who survives. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

   He was a retired mechanic, gun dealer, and farmer. He was a christian.

   Survivors other than his wife include, one daughter, Lee Anne (Tony) Ferguson, Summer Shade; one son, Eddie Daryl Ford Jr. Summer Shade; four grandsons, Cory Blazejewski, Louisville, Cody (Kayla) Blazejewski, Glasgow, Camren Blazejewski, Glasgow and Colten Blazejewski, Glasgow;

two great grandchildren, Emry Reign Blazejewski and Kylee Jane Blazejewski; three step grandchildren, James Blake Ferguson, Brittany (Cody) Ferguson Slaughter and Brianna Page, Elizabethtown; 4 step great grandsons, Brendon Ferguson, Preston Page, Liam Slaughter and Hunter Ferguson; two sisters, Diana (Roger) Warren, Mt Hermon and Jolene (Jimmy) Isenberg, Glasgow; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

   Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2020 2:00 6:00 P.M. and Wednesday, September 2, 2020, 9:00-12:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. A private family funeral will be held later and burial will be in Union #2 Cemetery.

    Due to current Covid 19 restrictions social distancing will be practiced, mask required, and temperature will be taken when entering the facility.

Shirley Vibbert

     Shirley Ann Vibbert, age 78, of Willow Shade, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 at her residence. She was born August 24, 1941 in Willow Shade; she was a daughter of the late Albert Propes and Cordelia Ballard Propes and the wife of Harold “Buddy” Vibbert who survives.

Mrs. Vibbert was a homemaker and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Survivors include one daughter; Rita (Billy Miles) Smith; three sons, Kenneth (Tammy) Vibbert, Keith Vibbert, and Kendall (Lisa) Vibbert; four sisters, Nella Stewart, Nancy Spears, Patty Adams, and Becky Rhoton; one brother, Jackie Propes; Ten grandchildren, Kristy Vibbert, Kelly (Samantha) Vibbert, Tyler Vibbert, Montana Trobaugh, Crystal Fields, Jeremy Vibbert, Latisha (Brandon) Whitlow, Daniel Vibbert, Dustin (Quel Beam) Smith, and Nick (Precious) Smith; Twenty one great grandchildren also survive.

   Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one great grandchild, Shaylee Vibbert. One daughter in-law, Terri Vibbert. Four brothers, Mac Propes, Boyd Propes, Danny Propes, and Michael Propes.

   Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private with burial in the Summer Shade cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to help with funeral expenses.

   Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, masks will be required and social distancing will be practiced, temperature will be taken when entering the facility.

Linda Bartley


Linda Lou Bartley, age 79, of Glasgow, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Neal Witty and Evelyn Emberton Witty.
   Ms. Bartley was a machine operator at RR Donnelley and a member of Coral Hill Baptist Church.
    She is survived by one daughter, Benita (Karie Ballard) Bartley of Texas. One son, Chris (Brenda) Bartley of Cave city. One Granddaughter, Moriah Bartley. One sister, Margaret Landrun of Glasgow. Niece and caregiver, Sharon Nesmith. Nephews Donald Bartley of Glasgow and Ricky Carter of Florida.
   Besides her parents she is preceded in death by the father of her children, Phillip Bartley. One brother, Mitchell Witty. One sister, Alice Nesmith.
 A walk through visitation will be Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private, Burial will be in the Summer Shade cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Brawa in Glasgow.

LEROY PAULL





    Leroy Paull, age 89, of Beaumont, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020, at his residence.
   He was a son of the late Dentis and Carrie Shaw Paull, and the husband of Pearl Hurt Paull, who survives. They were married 66 years.
   He was a farmer and carpenter and a member of the Beaumont United Methodist Church.
   Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Corn, Austin, Freda (David) Lovely, Murfreesboro, TN, and Linda London, Beaumont; one sister, Bobbie (Hartzel) White, Beaumont; one brother, Harold (Dorothy) Paull, Summer Shade; four grandchildren, Tara Garmon, Maria (Josh) Parke, Michael (Olivia) Hanna and Christopher Hanna; six great grandchildren, Salem Garmon, Bailey Duncan, Curtis Duncan, Caitlin Parke, Caiden Parke and Luna Belle Hanna; 3 great great grandchildren, Alexyn, Aria, and Aivi Rogers; and  several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
   He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by one brother, Jack Paull; son in law, Tom Corn; and a nephew, Ricky Paull.
   Funeral services will be Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with Brothers Meryl Young and Joe Wilcoxson officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 26, 2020, 10:00-2:00, at the Beaumont United Methodist Church.
   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beaumont Cemetery, and left at the church during visitation or sent to McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Ruth Roberts Holloway


           
   Frances Ruth Holloway, 88, of Summer Shade passed away Friday July 10, 2020 at Monroe County Medical Center. Born in Wayne county December 9, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Frances Bessie Jones and Kermit Roberts. She was the widow of Drexel Holloway.
   She was a homemaker, worked with Literacy program in Tompkinsville, Home Health and a teacher. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Church of Christ.
   Survivors include six sons Terry Holloway of Lexington, Gaius Holloway of Summer Shade, Forrest Holloway of Tompkinsville, Derek (Janice) Holloway of Fertile, MN, Alan Holloway of Summer Shade, and Lance Holloway of South Carolina; five grandchildren Courtney (Brandon) Roddy, Dusty (Lisa) Brown, Jacob (Kayla) Holloway, Heidi Holloway and Tabitha Holloway; three great grandchildren Jackson Roddy, Lane and Laney Brown.
  Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were three sisters Nancy Davis, Betty Ball, and Garynell Hinton; one daughter in-law Trudy Holloway.
   Funeral services will be Friday July, 17 2020 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Gilead Church of Christ will burial in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery. A walk through visitation will be held at the Church, from 10:00 AM until time of services at 2:00 PM
  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

   Agnes Arlene Morgan McMurtrey, 91, of Summer Shade, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at her home. She was the wife of the late Charles McMurtrey and the daughter of the late Homer and Winnie Shirley Morgan.
   She was a member of the Summer Shade Christian Church and spent many years working beside her husband at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
    Survivors include five children, Tommy (Freda) McMurtrey, Summer Shade, David (Phyllis) McMurtrey, Maysville, KY, Jan (David) Page, Bowling Green, KY, Laurie (Jimmy) Butler, Edmonton and Shana McMurtrey, Summer Shade; nine grandchildren, Brian (Beth) McMurtrey, Jason (Katie) McMurtrey,  Korey (Allison) McMurtrey, Ashley McMurtrey, Sarah (Scott) Hoover, Hannah Page, Russ (Erika) McMurtrey, Emily McMurtrey, Ty (Emma) McMurtrey; 9 great grandchildren; and one daughter in law, Sharon McMurtrey.
   In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceeded in death by a son, Gary McMurtrey; one sister, Frances Morgan Franklin and one brother, James Robert Morgan.
   A walk through visitation will be Saturday, July 11, 2020,1:00-8:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home  and on Sunday, July12, 2020, 8:00-12:00 A.M. A private family funeral service will be held.

Doris Marie Pedigo Grider


   Doris Marie Pedigo Grider, 93, of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Summer Shade passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Christian Health Center at Village Manor in Bowling Green.
   Born January 12, 1927 in Metcalfe County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Nora Smith Pedigo. She was the widow of the late Roy H Grider.
   She was a member of Missionary Mound Baptist Church and worked at Metcalfe Drugs for several years.
    Survivors include two grandchildren, Laura Marie Grider, Nashville, TN and Bradley Thomas (Brianna) Grider, Bowling Green; daughter in law, Peggy B Grider (Jerry) Webb, Bowling Green; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
   Preceding her in death, besides her husband, include one son, Thomas H Grider and two sisters, Dorothy (Odell) Clark and Maxine (Charles) Bradshaw.
    Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7, 2020, 1:00 P.M. at Missionary Mound Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. A walk through visitation will be Monday, July 6, 2020, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home and Tuesday, July 7, 2020, 7:00-9:30 at the funeral home and after 10:00 A.M. at the Missionary Mound Church. Jaydean Huff


Jaydean Huff, 62, of Gamaliel passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Medical center in Bowling Green. Born March 4, 1958 in Glasgow, he was the son of the late Wendell Huff and Ruby Cook Huff, who survives. On September 11, 1982 he married Deloris Murley Huff.
  Survivors other than his wife and mother include one son, David (Cindy Smith) Huff of Gamaliel; one sister, Loretta (Steve) Wise of Glasgow; two nephews, Luke (Mary) Wise and Shawn Wise; mother and father in-law, Stanley and Virginia Murley of Summer Shade; and one sister in-law, Pam Arnett.
   A walk through visitation will be Sunday, July 5, 2020, 2:00-6:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, per the families request, masks will be required. A private funeral service will be held.

OLLIE PEARL ENGLAND BRANSTETTER


Ollie Pearl England Branstetter, 92, of Glasgow, KY passed away peacefully Sunday, June 21st, 2020, at her residence following an illness. She was born on December 21st, 1927 on the family farm in Metcalfe County to the late Hastel Millard England and Brentz Helen Jeffries England. Mrs. Branstetter was a long time employee of Farmers Rural Electric Cooperative where she served as Manager of Consumer Accounts prior to her retirement. She was married for 43 years to the late Wendell J. Branstetter and lived the majority of her life on the Branstetter family farm in Summer Shade, Kentucky where she was famous for her homemade yeast rolls, sweet tea, and special mac and cheese. She was affectionately referred to as MeMa by her grandchildren and was a member of the South Edmonton Church of Christ. She is survived by one son, Wendell Steven Branstetter (Linda) of Summer Shade; one daughter, Tamara Branstetter Martin (Ricky) of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Amber Branstetter Huffman (Chris) of Center, KY; Cassie Martin Reynolds (Patrick) of Bowling Green; Bart Branstetter (Jourdan) of Summer Shade; J. T. Martin (Ashley) of Glasgow. Eight great-grandchildren, Colton and Cade Huffman, Parks and Eva Cate Reynolds; Lynleigh, Lila and John Thomas Martin, and a two-month old namesake, Ollie Laine Branstetter; Two Sisters-in-law, Sue Branstetter England of Murfreesboro, TN; Barbara Branstetter of Edmonton and several nieces and nephews. William Gerald Nunnally, 85 of Bowling Green, formally of Summer Shade, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at his residence. Born February 22, 1935 in Summer Shade, he was the son of the late Clayton and Pauline Hodge Nunnally. He was the husband of 66 years to Janet Martin Nunnally, who survives. He was a director at Exceptional Industry and a member of the Summer Shade Christian Church. He served in the United States Navy. Survivors, other than his wife include one daughter Marla Ingram, of Bowling Green; one grand daughter C.J. (Levent) Kellar of Ohio; two great grand children William and Zoe Kellar of Ohio; one sister, June Wallace of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews. Otis (Odie) Ray Turner, 77, Dubre, passed away Friday, June 4, 2020 at The Medical Center, Bowling Green. Born March 25, 1943 in Dubre, KY he was a son of the late James Edgar and Ova Helen Muse Turner. He was the husband of 55 years of Violet Holland Turner, who survives. He was a farmer and of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors other than his wife, include one daughter, Loretta (Jeffrey) Lee, Dubre; two sons, Toby Turner, Murray, KY and Darin (Melissa) Turner, Marrowbone; six grandchildren, Eric, Michaela, Kristy, Kasey, Breanna, and Peyton; five great grandchildren, Patrick, Shelby, Lily, Dylan and Oakley; 6 sisters, Faye Smith, IN, Carolyn Simpson, Edmonton, Kathy Turner, IN, Judy Ford, Edmonton, Beverly Turner, IN, and Tracy (Jack) Simpson, Beaumont; three brothers, Darrell (Ruby) Turner, Beaumont, Jerry (Barbara) Turner, Mud Camp and Timothy (Sharon) Turner, Beaumont. James Carson White

On this day May 23, 2020, Carson White went on a long-awaited journey to be with his heavenly father and be reunited with his son, Chad White, and parents Homer H. and Pauline Goode White. Carson is survived by his wife, Pam; a sister, Paula “PJ” Martin (Tudor); a daughter-in-law, Lori White; and grandchildren, Kassidy and Tyler White. Also surviving is a large church family from Canaanland Baptist Church where he was a member. Visitation will be at Canaanland Baptist Church, 1594 Oil City Road, Glasgow, on Thursday, May 28, 2020, beginning at 10 a.m. until the funeral time at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. In keeping with the governor’s new requirements for funeral and memorial services the number of attendees in the church at any given time will be limited; social distancing will be necessary and face coverings are recommended. Born January 9, 1929 in Bowling Green, KY he was a son of the late Mabel Holland and Thomas Pritchard Robinson and the husband of the late Thalia Marie Fenstemacher Robison. He had worked as a carpenter and painter. Survivors include two step daughters, Jeannie Bass, Rogersville, MO and Thalia (Billy Joe) Pace, Summer Shade; one step son, Bill (Debbie) Oldham, Marlow, OK; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evie Pearl Hayes Parke, 90, Summer Shade, passed away May 16, 2020 at T J Samson Community Hospital. Born May 16, 1930 in Edmonton, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ova Lee Shaw Hayes and the wife of the late Otha Parke. She was a housewife, caregiver, helped farm, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and did a lot for her community. She was a member of Missionary Mound Baptist Church since 1947. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Donald (Leisa) Parke, and Tommy Parke both of Summer Shade; three grandchildren, Jeremy Lee (Megan Young) Parke, Jenny (Johnathan) Heckel, and Jessica (Tyler Bonnema) Parke; seven great grandchildren, Camron and Aubrey Parke, Landon and Lucas Heckel, Brailey Brown, Briale and Callee Lane and two special caregivers Jackie Lohden and Patti Hurt. Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents, were one daughter, Shirley Parke; two sisters, Maye Isenberg and Maude Hawkins; and five brothers, Richard, Buford, Thomas, Edward and Alphie Hayes. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 21, 2020, 1:00 P.M. at Missionary Mound Baptist Church with Brother Dale Copas officiating. Burial will follow in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Ollie Jane Firkin, age 98, of Glasgow, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at the NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. She was of the Methodist Faith and was a farmer and a midwife. Born on May 29, 1921 to the late Richard Riley and Sevilla Watson Riley. She was the wife of the late John W. Baker. She is survived by one daughter Donna Kay Bartley. Three great grandchildren Kalvin Bartley, Dusty Ray Ford (Allison) and Destiny Kay Ford. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, one sister, Nannie Garrett and one brother, Walter Riley. Cremation was chosen, McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family. A memorial may be held at a later date. Elsie Ellen Blythe Key, 77, Beaumont, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 at her residence. Born November 22, 1942 in Burkesville, KY she was a daughter of the late Elson and Lucy Key Blythe, and the wife of 54 years of Ira Thomas Key, who survives. She was a housewife and machine operator and a member of the House of Prayer Church. Survivors other than her husband include, two daughters, Pam (Lonnie) Dile, Edmonton and Chandra (Terry Dile) Harper; special nephew, Steven (Stephanie) Blythe, Edmonton; two sisters Dean Dzieciatkowski, Chicago and Lolly (Danny) Taylor, Edmonton; 5 brothers, Dan Blythe, Columbia, Jerry Blythe, Edmonton, Randy Blythe, Louisville, James Blythe, Edmonton, and David Blythe, Edmonton; 5 grandchildren, Cayce Dile (Cody Allbright), Coleman Dile (Tara Tooley), Chelsie Dile, Chas (Raelynn) Harper and Travis “Rug” (Megan) Harper; 6 great grandchildren, Brynlee Test, Baylor Dile, Iris Dile, Carson Harper, Liam Harper and Ryker; and special nephews, Owen and Landon Blythe. KYLE NEAL DODSON

Kyle Neal Dodson, 28, Glasgow, KY passed away Monday, April 6, 2020, at T J Samson Hospital, as a result of a motorcycle accident. Born July 31, 1991 in Glasgow, KY, he was a son of Terry (Deana) Dodson and Melinda Belcher Dodson (fiance Glen), and husband of Ashley Webb Dodson, who survive. He worked at Sumitomo and was a member of the Cedar Flat Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors other than his parents and wife include two sons, Elijah and Lucky Dodson; grandparents, Morris Dodson, Summer Shade, Faye Ervin, Edmonton, and James Belcher, West Virginia; special cousin, Coty Belcher; and several uncles, aunts and cousins. Due to the current Covid-19 all services will be private and a memorial services will be held at a later date. McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Peggy Jo Ballard, 76, Beaumont, KY passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at T J Samson Hospital. Born September 29, 1943 in Glasgow, KY she was a daughter of the late Rance and Delsie Ford Ballard. She worked in factories and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include one son, Scott (Gayle) Ballard, Beaumont; one sister, Polly (Ray) Shaw, Beaumont; one grandson, Cody (Meagan Jones) Ballard; and four grandchildren, Paxton, Kambrie, Harper and Hadley Ballard. Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were one brother, Rance Ford Ballard, Jr and one sister, Patty Ann Ballard. Memorial services will be held at a later date as cremation was chosen. Edna Rankin

Edna Dehart Rankin, age 94, of Summer Shade passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Born in Bridgeton, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late Frank and Edna Forrest Dehart. She was a homemaker. She is survived by two children Barbara Jean Rankin and Frank Rankin: two brothers, Marvin Dehart and Harvey Dehart: and by several Grandchildren and great Grandchildren. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Edward Rankin and three sons, Edward, Billy and Ronald Rankin. No services are scheduled at this time as cremation was chosen. Norman Lee Coomer, 69, Edmonton, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at his residence. Born June 8, 1950 in Columbia, KY, he was a son of the late Frank and Opal Sneed Coomer and the husband of 27 years, to Melissa Stange Coomer, who survives. He worked as a warehouse supervisor and was a member of Trinity Christian Outreach. Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Michelle (Alan) Bradshaw, Russell Springs and Mary Alice Coomer, Edmonton; three sons, Jeremy [Mo] (Jennifer) Coomer, Columbia Ryan (Leticia) Kilgore, Center, and Matthew Coomer, Edmonton; grandchildren, Christina (Levi) Scott, Allen (Jennifer) Shirley, Ricky (Haley) Shirley, , Dillian Coomer, Haley Coomer, Payton Coomer, Rylee Godsey, Dillon Godsey, Robert Bradshaw, Alex Bradshaw Kayla Bradshaw, Alexia, Trinity, Harmony(Toodle-Doo) and Ella Mae Kilgore; 6 great grandchildren; sister in laws, Amy (Kelly) Hatmaker, Andrea Stange and Kerri (Bob) Stange; and two brother in laws, Jimmy (Taylor) Stange and Scott Stange; and three nieces. Robert Brown, 83, Dubre, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at his home. Born August 14, 1936 in Dubre, he was a son of the late Roxie Harper Brown and Fowler Brown and the husband of the late Nell Brown. He was a farmer and a logger. He was a member of the Willow Shade Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Gearlds, Edmonton; one step daughter, Carla Fudge, Beaumont; two grandchildren, Chasidy (Matt) Matney, Greensburg and Katelyn Gearlds, Burkesville; two great grandchildren, Liberty Brockman and Raelynn Matney; one sister, Janet (Lonnie) Parke, Dubre; and two brothers, Ovell (Mary) Brown, Summer Shade and Glen Brown, Dubre. Betty Ann Strode Blankenship, 62, Lone Star Ridge Community, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020. Born May 6, 1957 in Tompkinsville, KY, she was a daughter of the late James Strode and Della Hurt Strode, who survives. She worked at Sumitomo Electric Wiring and was a member of the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to her mother, include two daughters, Michelle (Kevin) Norris, Tompkinsville and Mary Blankenship, Beaumont; three step children, Van Blankenship, Beaumont, Ann (Jeff) Rowlett, Beaumont, and Anita (Ricky) Crowe, Tompkinsville; five grandchildren, Brittany (Kyle) McFarland, Nathan (Sabrina) Rowlett, Marissa Rowlett, Chase Blankenship and Michaela Whitehead; several step great grandchildren; one great grand child, Kason McFarland; two brothers, Jody Strode, Tompkinsville and Kenny (Sylvia) Strode, Scottsville; two sisters, Joyce (Terry) Blythe, Brandenburg and Barbara (Mickey) White, Marrowbone; and special friend, Calvin Ferguson. Shelia Marlene Paull Cassady, 59, Summer Shade, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. Born January 31, 1960 in Dearborn, MI, she was a daughter of the late Lola Carnahan Paull and Rendell Paull. She was the wife of Danny Cassady, who survives. They were married 39 years. She worked as a caretaker. Bessie Aline Pedigo Bartley

Bessie Aline Pedigo Bartley, 92, of Beaumont, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2019 at the home of her daughter, Margaret Fraser. Bessie, born on September 30, 1927 and raised in Metcalfe Co., was the daughter of James Fred Pedigo and Maud Francis Jennings and the wife of Cloyd Powell Bartley. Bessie was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the management of their lumber company. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and spending time with friends and family and was a member of the Metcalfe Co. Homemakers. Bessie was a member of Summer Shade Christian Church. On May 15, 1945, in Burkesville, Kentucky, she married Cloyd Powell Bartley, who preceded her in death in 1993. Bessie is survived by a daughter, Margaret Bartley Fraser (L. Michael) of Berryville, Virginia; one sister, Edith Kingrey Duvall of Glasgow, Kentucky; two grandchildren: Laura Fraser Wyttenbach (Keith) of Frederick, Maryland and Russell Bartley Fraser (Kathy) of Pooler, Georgia; four great-grandchildren: Matthew Russell Fraser of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Grace Delaney Wyttenbach and Parker James Wyttenbach of Frederick, Maryland, and Rose Marie Fraser of Pooler, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her mother, father, and husband, Bessie was preceded in death by four brothers;: Albert Earl Pedigo (Elizabeth), William Eugene Pedigo (Marie), Edward Hershell Pedigo (Jennie), and Ernest Elmore Pedigo (Joyce) and a sister, Mary Pedigo Welch (Vernon), and four half-sisters; Margaret Hazel Carter (George), Lillie Blanch Lawson (John), Maud Opal Jennings (Bernice) and Ruby Della Garrett (Herbert), and a half-brother James Clayton Pedigo (Hallie Jane). Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January5, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade. Burial will follow at Skaggs Creek Cemetery in the family plot. Visitation will be on January 4th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on January 5th from 8:00 AM until time of the service, with Reverend Bill Campbell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bessie’s memory to the Summer Shade Fire Department.
