Velmar Cogar




   Velmar Lee Cogar, age 76, Summer Shade,  died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.

   Born May 7, 1941 in Webster Springs, West Virginia he was a son of the late Byge and Goldie Cogar and raised by the late Harry and Reva Prrine. He was the husband of the late Sherry Lynn Rice Cogar who preceded him in death August 29, 2015.

   He was a carpenter and retired from Eaton’s. He was a Christian. 

   Survivors include one daughter, Donna Cogar Mosby, Nashville; one son Jessie and his wife Karina Rosales Cogar, Bowling Green; one brother Buddy (Louise) Cogar; cousin Bobby (Darlene) Hines; seven grandchildren, Anika Mosby, Elijah Cogar, Katilyn Huntsman, Rayleigh Huntsman, Gracie Hayes , Jason Nikola Cogar and Elliot Nolan Cogar;  two great grandchildren, Aspen and Creed Lee  Cogar; and one daughter in law, Carrie Cogar.

   He was preceded in death by two sons Daniel and Jason Cogar and one sister Helen Cowger.  

   Funeral services will be Saturday, March 31, 2018  at 1:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home  with John Shepard officiating. Burial will follow in the Union #2 Cemetery.  Visitation will begin Friday, March 30, 2018a t 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday after 8:00 a.m. until time of services.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

   Memorials may be made to the Union #2 Cemetery and may left at the funeral home.

HUGH (PEANUT) GIBSON




   Hugh (Peanut) Gibson, age 74, Edmonton, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at NHC in Glasgow.

   He was a son of the late George and Roxie Copes Gibson and the husband of Dorsey Kaye Crowe Gibson who survives.

   He worked at maintenance and was of the Baptist faith.

   He is survived other than his wife by one daughter, Erica Gibson, Edmonton; one sister Christine Lemons, IN; one grandchild Rinoa Cassady; several nieces and nephews:  and neighbors at Tree Top Apartments.

   He was preceded in death besides his parents by several brothers.

   Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bro Joshua Grider officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 27, 2018, 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m.

   The family wishes a special thank you to the staff at NHC.

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral fund.

Freddie Wade Wilson

   Freddie Wade Wilson, age 75, of Edmonton, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
   Born December 20, 1942 in Tompkinsville, Ky he was a son of the late Mose Thomas and Enna Belle Walker Wilson. He was the husband of Mary Nell Fletcher Wilson who survives.
   He had worked as a lumber stacker at several local sawmills.
   Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Kathryn (Scotty) Bryant, Glasgow; one son, Kelvin Wade Wilson, Edmonton; one sister, Brenda Hire, Indiana; one brother, Bro. Taylor (Belle) Wilson, Tompkinsville; and two grandchildren, Trever Bryant and Landon McCandless.
   Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Kelly, Mervin and Charles Wilson and two sisters Glaydell Scott and Runelle Pruitt.
   Funeral services will be Sunday, March 18, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Wade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday, March 17, 2018, 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Sunday after 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
   Memorials may be made to the Wade Cemetery

Donald Lee Lawson


Donald Lee Lawson, age 49, of Bowling Green, died March 12, 2018 at his residence.
   Born November 25, 1968 in Nashville, TN he was a son of the late Elvin and Maxie Wilborn Lawson and the husband of Robyn McNeal Lawson, who survives.
   He worked at Bendix in Bowling Green and was a Christian.
   Survivors other than his wife include one daughter Kaitlyn Lawson, Scottsville; three step daughters, Kelly Graham, Bowling Green, Charlee Ison, IN, and Kaylyn Ison, Bowling Green; one sister, Debbie (Ricky) Ballard, Summer Shade; four brothers, Timmy Lawson, Glasgow, Bobby Lawson, Glasgow, Jackie Wilborn, and Jimmy Wilborn, both of Tompkinsville; and eight grandchildren, Brison Lee, Donavan, Addalyn, Alexzander and Lucy Graham, Jordan Jones, Dawson Ison, and Devon Foster Jr.
   Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
