Nedith Lawson


 Nedith Janelle Lawson, 83, Edmonton, passed away March 28, 2022 at her residence.

  Born June 26, 1938 in Edmonton, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Margaret Hazel (Pedigo) Carter.  She was married to Reverend Willis Junior Lawson, who preceded her in death.

      Survivors include one daughter, Tamara Lawson- Stamper and husband Dan of Edmonton; grandson, Nathaneal Willis C. Fears and wife Angela of Edmonton.

 In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Janette DeWeese .

   Funeral services will be Thursday, March 31 , 2022, 1:00 PM at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31 , 2022, from 9:00 A.M until time of services at 1: 00 P.M.

Ruby Huff

 

   Ruby Ann Huff, 83, Glasgow, passed away March 16, 2022 at Barren County Health and Rehab.

  Born June 06, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Pearl Cook.  She was married to Wendell Huff, who preceded her in death.

      Survivors include one daughter, Loretta Wise and husband Steve of Glasgow; one sister, May Likens of Glasgow; daughter- in- law, Deloris Huff of Gamaliel; three grandchildren, Shawn Wise of Glasgow, Luke Wise and wife Mary of Campbellsville and David Huff of Gamaliel; great- grandchildren, Ellie Wise, Lillie Wise, and Nathaniel Wise; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jaydean Huff; one sister, Rose Clemmons; and one brother, Roy Cook

   Funeral services will be Saturday, March 19, 2022, 1:00 PM at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Brother Donnie Abney will be officiating; Burial will follow in the Lick Branch Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2022, 2:00-7:00 PM and on Saturday, after 8:00 AM until time of services at 1: 00 P.M.

Ginny Lou Piercy

 

   Ginny Lou Piercy age 51 of Edmonton, KY passed away March 10, 2022 at her residence.  She was born October 6, 1970 in Ft Wayne Indiana.

    She worked in several sewing factories and was a Christian.

    She is survived by her parents Goldina Smith of Summer Shade and David (Brenda) Piercy of Edmonton, two sons Jamie (Amanda) Piercy of Hardyville and Jacob (Leslee) Piercy of Edmonton; five sisters Penny Daniel of Scottsville, Margie (Josh) Pauley of Wyoming, Amy Turner of Summer Shade, Katrina Piercy of Ft Wayne and Lisa (Ken) Hall of Edmonton; five brothers Marty (Beth) Piercy of Decatur, IN, Dennis (Jackie) Piercy, Gary (Penny) Piercy and Billy (Jackie) Ryan all of Ft Wayne and Timmy (Stacey) Piercy of Edmonton; four grandchildren Preston Piercy, Avery Rich, Katie Piercy and Emaree Piercy.

     She was preceeded in death by one son Jordan Piercy and one brother in law Keith Daniel.

    A graveside service will be held Saturday March 12, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at the Skaggs Creek Cemetery.

    The family request donations to help with funeral expense and can be left at the McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Joseph Cole Palmore


 

 

Joseph Cole Palmore, age 27, of Summer Shade passed away at his residence. He was born on August 15, 1994 in Glasgow to Joseph Scott and Stacey Bailey Palmore, who both survive.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Tori Palmore of Bowling Green; two grandmothers, Rebecca Johnson and husband Jerry, and Mary Palmore Gilliam and companion Ronnie Page; aunt, Lisa Pedigo and husband Terry; uncle, Mike Bailey and wife Donya; aunt, Terri Bailey; and uncle, Marty Bailey and wife Amanda; cousins, Whiney Phelps and husband Derrick, Legend, Dralyn, and Denver Bailey.

Preceding him in death, are two grandfathers, Joe Don Palmore and Clay Bailey, and step- grandfather Walt Gilliam.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Bro. Tim McClellan will conduct the service. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 10:00 A.M until service time at 1:00 P.M at the funeral home.

Josh Parke


Joshua Eric Parke, age 36, of Dubre, passed away Thursday, March 03, 2022. Born April 23, 1985 in Burkesville, he is a son of Timmie and Sue Franklin Parke, who both survive.

  He was the loving husband of Maria London Parke, who also survives. They were married 14 years. Josh was a logger and enjoyed being and working in the outdoors. He loved to farm, and also loved his wife and children, and spending time with them. Everyone that knew Josh loved him.

   Survivors other than his wife and parents include one daughter, Caitlin Parke; one son, Caiden Parke;  two brothers, Garren Parke and wife, Jessie of Glasgow, and Corey Parke of Dubre; mother-in-law, Linda London of Summer Shade; father-in-law, Charles London and wife, Cindy of Center; nieces, Keagan and Karaline Parke; uncle, Lonnie Parke and wife, Janet ; and special grandma, Pearl Paull

   Preceding him in death are his grandparents Kyle and Geneva Parke and special grandpa, Leroy Paull.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday March 9, 2022 at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Willie Westmoreland, Finis Capshaw, and Todd Huckelby officiating,. Burial will follow in the Creasy Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 08, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and on Wednesday, March 09, 2022 after 8:00 A.M until service time at 1:00 P.M

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the fund for his children. These donations can be made at Edmonton State Bank, Citizen’s Bank in Burkesville, or left at McMurtrey Funeral Home.


Roy Wayne Copas

 

 

   Roy Wayne Copas, age 77, of Tompkinsville passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at his residence. Born December 11, 1944 in Tompkinsville, he was a son of the late Joe Jefferson and Eunice Marie Vibbert Copas. He was the husband of Patricia Poole, who survives. They were married 43 years.

   Roy was a sawmill worker for Roy Anderson and James Ritter for 50 years.  He was a hard worker and told pride in telling people how it was growing up and he loved all cars. He enjoyed vacations to the mountains with his family. He was a Christian.

   Survivors other than his wife, include one daughter, Kara Beth (Justin) Hunter, Scottsville, KY; one son, Kyle Wayne  (Faith Kean) Copas, Tompkinsville;  three sisters, Joyce Pedigo, Barbara Stewart, and Betty ( Red) Pennington, all of Tompkinsville; two brothers, Virgil (Betty) and Freddie Copas both of Tompkinsville; and Kynley Gee , who he thought as a special grandchild.

   Preceding him in death were three brothers, Charlie, John David and Gary (Frosty) Copas; two sisters, Stella Joy Price and Glathey Strode; mother in law, Carolyn Bryant, and two children, Carolyn Marie and Trina Faye Copas.

   Funeral services will be Friday March 4, 2022 at McMurtrey Funeral Home , with Brother Thomas Stokes, officiating,. Burial will follow in the Basil Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 4, 2022,  after 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00..

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to  the Basis Cemetery.

Ralph Timothy (Tim) Barlow


  

 

Ralph Timothy Alphonzo Barlow, better known as Tim, age 63, of Edmonton was born on September 25, 1958 to the late Otis and Nettie Buckner Barlow. On March 1, 2022 our beloved brother exchanged this earthly life for eternal life at T.J Samson Community Hospital.

Tim worked in Little Rock, Arkansas, painting bridges and farm work most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church    . His favorite saying was, “ God is good all the time.”

He is Survived one sister, Joyce Driver and husband Robert of Glasgow; two brothers, Fred Barlow and wife Patty of Glasgow, and Leroyce Barlow and wife Linda of Edmonton; and one special grandson, Jordan Garmon.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Magdalene Richardson and Bertha Lois Barlow, two brothers, Billy Barlow and J.D Barlow.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 07, 2022 at 1:00 pm at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Bro. Terry Richardson will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lane Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, March 07, 2022 from 10:00 A.M until service time at 1:00 P.M at the funeral home.

The family respectfully request anyone in attendance to please wear a mask.

 

Herlen Payne Jr.


 

Herlen Payne Jr., age 81, of Summer Shade, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022 at his residence.

   He was born May 19, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Herlen Payne Sr. and Louise Zoellner Payne.

   Survivors include two daughters, Diana Saylor and her husband David, and Joyce Stafford both of Summer Shade; one son, Thomas Payne, of Smiths Grove; two sisters, Rose Outcault and Georganna Vandermoere and husband Don, both of Indiana; two brothers Frank Payne and wife Jeanne, and Robert Payne and wife Sharon both of Indiana ; and 9 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

   Preceding him in death besides his parents is one sister, Barbara Hoyt.

   Graveside services will be Saturday, March 05, 2022, at Noon. at Union Number 2 Cemetery..
