Talmadge (Tab) Elton Rush




   Talmadge (Tab) Elton Rush, age 83, of Glasgow, formerly of Summer Shade, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at NHC Healthcare.

   Born November 17, 1934, in Summer Shade, he was a son of the late Ralph Kenton and Maymie Brooks Rush and the husband of Ella Taylor Rush, who survives.

   He was a Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force for 23 years. He was a member of the Beaumont Methodist Church.

   Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one son Mark (Penny) Rush, Summer Shade; three sisters, Sue Romines, Louisville, Lena Margaret Dickerson, Glasgow, and Mary (Jerry) Stephens, Naples, FL; two brothers Byron (Buddy)  [Suzanne] Rush, Louisville and Ancel (Butch) [Jolene] Rush, Bowling Green, KY; one grandchild Cody Rush; and one sister in law Marine Rush.

   He was preceded in death besides his parents by one brother Charles Rush.

   Funeral services will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Meryl Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Rush Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:oo p.m. and on Thursday, March 1, 2018 after 7:00 a.m. until time of services.

   Memorials may be made to the Rush Cemetery and left at the funeral home.

KATRINA LEE ARNETT FRAZIER




   Katrina Lee Arnett Frazier, age 55, Tompkinsville, died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at her residence. Katrina was born December 10, 1962 in Tompkinsville. She was the wife of Ted Frazier, who survives.

   She worked in sewing factories and was of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors other than her husband, include one son, Matthew Bartley (Heather Barbee) Tompkinsville; one daughter, Lynn Allen, Tompkinsville; one sister, Lisa Toms, AK; and four grandchildren, Britney Allen, Heather Allen, Nolan Barbee, and RoseMary Bartley.

   She was preceded in death by one daughter Melinda Kay Frazier.

   McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Marcella Key


   Marcella Ann Birge Key, age 62, of Edmonton, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Metcalfe Health Care Center. Marcella was born September 24, 1955 in Indianapolis IN to the late Clifton and Christine Devine Birge.  She had worked at Eaton’s.

    Survivors include three daughters, Christina Dugard (Terry Isenberg), Summer Shade, Crystal Key, Glasgow and Brandi Robertson (Tyler) Glasgow; six grandchildren Jose Pena, Ivan Pena, Angel Canales, Alba Canales, Hayden Key, and Ryver Robertson; and one special aunt Carol Craine.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Bro Chad Harston officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m.

   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral fund.

MABLE FLORENCE FRANKLIN PULLIAM


Mable Florence Franklin Pulliam, 88, of Summer Shade, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at NHC HealthCare, Glasgow.

   She was a daughter of the late Bernice and Lear Shirley Franklin.

   She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors include one daughter Jackie Stone, Glasgow; three sons, Joseph Pulliam, Glasgow, Alexander Pulliam, Glasgow and Bobby Pulliam Edmonton; four grandchildren, Angela Stone (Domonique Burriell, Christopher Gean Burton, Donmetrias Stone (Kristen Moses), and Jasmine Osborn; and four great grandchildren Kellon Stone, Elijah Burriell, Raelyn Stone, and Zackery Joe Burton.

   She was preceded in death by one son Richard Timothy Pulliam.

   Funeral services will be Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Bryant officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, 4:00-8:00 P.M. and on Thursday, February 8, 2018 after 7:00 A.M. until time of services.

CHRISTOPHER RAY DEWEESE


Christopher Ray DeWeese, 38, of Louisville, formerly of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at University of Louisville Hospital.

   Born April 19, 1979 in Franklin, KY he was the son of Diana Faye DeWeese Swindle (Chester Sexton), Adolphus, who survives and the late Billy Alvin Lawrence.

   He was a tile setter in the construction industry.

   In addition to his mother he is survived by one daughter, Christy Jo; one aunt Pam DeWeese Lowe (Terry), Bowling Green; one cousin Tony Adams  (Valerie) and family, Bowling Green; one step brother, Jimmy Swindle (Ashley) and family, Adolphus; one half brother Jay Lawrence, Franklin; and his life partner Bobbi Jo Stansberry.  

   He was preceded in death besides his father by his grandparents, J Harold DeWeese and Grace Norris Wright, Bowling Green.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at McMurtrey
Funeral Home, Summer Shade, KY.

 Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6, 2018, 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 after 7:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00.

George Leon Shirley




   George Leon (Yellow Bird) Shirley, 80, of Summer Shade, died Sunday, February 4, 2018, at T J Samson Hospital.

   Born in Summer Shade, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Tom and Alice Moore Shirley and the husband of the late Maxine J Brewer. She preceded him in death March 27, 2015. They were married 49 years.

   He worked at McMurtrey Planing Mill, Stephens Mfg., and McMurtrey Funeral Home. He was of the Baptist faith and contributed to the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church in many ways.

      Survivors include two sons, Lenardos (Lisa) Shirley, Knob Lick and Larmarrous (Bonnie) Shirley, Union City, (Atlanta) GA; three brothers Clyde Shirley, Summer Shade, Leanis (Annie Mae) Shirley, Glasgow and Wendell Shirley, Horse Cave; three sisters, Lou Nell Brown, Alvaton, Mable (John) Taylor, Dayton, OH, Eva Cloteel Gibson, Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Latrel Shirley, Lanisha Martin, and LaVander Shirley; two great grand children Deant’e Martin, and Jordynn Martin; special niece Thelma Stockton; several other nieces and nephews; the McMurtrey Family; and many friends of several generations of Summer Shade.

   He was preceded in death besides his wife and parents by one brother Cleatis Shirley and two sisters, Anna Bell Taylor and Emma Jean Barlow.

   Funeral services will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church on Summer Shade Church Road, Summer Shade, with Dr. Ronnie Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lane Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Summer Shade Missionay Baptist Church 3:00-9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 10, 2018 after 8:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church or the Trinity Lane Cemetery.
