Linda True White

    Linda True McCoy White, age 78, of Summer Shade, passed away, Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Signature Healthcare of Tompkinsville.

   Born December 25, 1941 in Summer Shade, she was a daughter of the late James and Lucille Kingrey McCoy. She was a homemaker.

   Survivors include one son, Darren White, Summer Shade; one brother, Dewayne McCoy, Summer Shade; one grandchild, Nicholas White, Tompkinsville; and two nieces, Ashley Logsdon, and Machelle Canales; and one nephew Marty McCoy.

  Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 2, 2021, 3:00-8:00 P.M.  and on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, after 8:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00.

   Due to Covid regulations, face mask are required, social distancing encouraged and no food or drinks allowed.

    In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Summer Shade Cemetery

Gary (Frosty) Dale Copas

 

   Gary (Frosty) Dale Copas, age 72, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Born February 1, 1949 in Tompkinsville he was a son of the late Joe Jefferson and Eunice Marie (Vibbert) Copas.

 Frosty worked at saw mills and was of the Pentecostal faith. He had the biggest kindest heart and would do anything for anybody.

   Survivors include, one son, Richard (Audra) Copas, Norton Shores, Michigan; one daughter Charity Copas, Tompkinsville; four sisters, Betty (Red) Pennington, Joyce Pedigo, Sue Stewart  and Glathey (Hade) Strode all of Tompkinsville; three brothers, Roy (Patricia) Copas,  Virgil (Betty) Copas, and Freddie (Martha) Copas all of Tompkinsville; 5 granddaughters, Winter (Andrew Fowler) Morgan, Justine Morgan, Dani Morgan, Christina Copas, and Cheyenne (Angela) Hammer; five great granddaughters, Kaylee Fowler, Adalynn Morgan, Kira Blakely, Paisley Amerine, and Nevaeh Hammer; many nieces and nephews and the mother of his children Betty (Dyer) Light.

   Preceding him in death besides his parents were 2 brothers, Charlie Copas and John David Copas and one sister, Stella Jay Price.

    A private family service will be Monday, February 22, 2021 at 2:00 P. M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Waymon Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Basil Cemetery. A walk through visitation will be Monday, February 21, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 2:00.

   The funeral service will be aired on McMurtrey Funeral Homes face book page at 2:00.

   Donations may be made to the funeral fund and left at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Ryan Nicholas Mines

 

   Ryan Nicholas Mines, age 33, of Summer Shade, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Born in Dyersburg, TN October 30, 1987 he was the son of the late Kristi Grafe Mines and William Mines, who survives.

   He worked as a foreman of a cell tower construction crew.

   Survivors other than his father, include his fiancĂ©. Meghann McIntyre, Summer Shade; one daughter, Ava Mines; two sons, Mason and Knox Mines; three sisters, Erin (Chip) Heflin, Murfreesboro, TN, Kaitlyn (Avery) Reed, Gresham, OH, and Victoria Mines; niece, Eleanor Marshall; nephews, Joshua Heflin and Connor Helfin; grandparents, William and Pat Mines; and stepmom Yvonne Mines.

   Preceding him in death besides his mother, were one uncle, Bob Grafe and maternal grandparents, Richard and Juanita Grafe.

    A memorial service will be held at a later date as cremation was chosen by the family.

   McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Michelle Lee Strode Norris

 

 

 

   Michelle Lee Strode Norris, age 43, Tompkinsville, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.

   Born April 8, 1977 in Tompkinsville, she was the daughter of the late Betty Strode and Stewart Blankenship and the wife of Kevin Norris, who survives.

   Michelle worked in nursing and as a residential painter. She was a member of the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church.

   Survivors, other than her husband, include two daughters, Brittany (Kyle) McFarland, Tompkinsville and Michaela Whitehead, Tompkinsville; three sisters, Ann (Jeff) Rowlett, Summer Shade, Anita (Ricky) Crowe, Tompkinsville, and Mary Blankenship, Summer Shade; one brother, Van Blankenship, Summer Shade; one grandchild, Kason McFarland; and a special uncle, Jody Strode.

    One sister, Melissa Cain preceded her in death.

    Funeral services will be Saturday, February 20, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with limited seating. Brother Chad Harston will be officiating with burial to follow in the Lone Star Cemetery. A walk through visitation will be Saturday, February 20, 2021, 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:00.

   Memorials may be made to the Lone Star Cemetery.

Troye Allen Shirley

    Troye Allen Shirley, age 66, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at Blue Ash Hospice. Born January 19, 1955 in Summer Shade, KY he was a son of the late Fred Donald and Christine (Jones) Shirley.

   He worked as an accountant for the city of Cincinnati, was of the Baptist faith, and a United States Marine veteran.

   Survivors include one daughter, Christina J Shirley, Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Nola Shirley (Wendell) Taylor, Cincinnati, OH; two brothers, William C (Marsha) Shirley, Cincinnati, OH and Grayling Shirley, Los Angeles, CA; and one grandchild, Aaron Troye Thompkins.

   Preceding him death besides his parents, was a brother Fred Donald Shirley, Jr

   Funeral services will be Saturday, February 13, 2021, 12:00 noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Brother Ronnie Bryant officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Ebenezer Baptist Church from 11:30 until time of services at noon.

    Face masks will be required, social distancing must be observed and limited seating will be available at the funeral.

    The funeral service will be live streamed on McMurtrey Funeral Home face book page at 12:00 noon Saturday Feb 13, 2021 for those unable to attend
