Tammie Lynn Jessie

Tammie Lynn Jessie, 56, of Edmonton passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 2, 2023, with her loving family at her side. Tammie was born August 1, 1967, in Glasgow to the late Henry Thomas “Buster” Jessie and Daisy Marie England Jessie of Edmonton who survives.

Tammie was an outgoing person who had a bubbling personality. She had a love for everyone she came in contact with. Tammie, being a loving person and putting others before herself had donated a kidney to her great niece without reservation. She also had a great love for her pets and referred to them as her children and even after they passed on never forgot them or to mention them to others. Tammie courageously battled cancer and even in the end refused to give in to its deadly end. She will be admired for her determination and the final message being “I am a winner either way.” Tammie was a member of the Society Hill Baptist Church.

Besides her mother she is survived by sisters who stood close to her side. Linda Shirley, Brenda (Dennis) Judd and Betty (Wendell) Sexton. Several nieces and nephews. Eighteen great nieces and eight great great nieces and nephews also survive with a host of close friends and other relatives.

Besides her father Tammie was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Michael Shirley, and a nephew Terry Shirley.

In keeping with Tammie’s wishes, cremation was chosen. Her desire was to be interred between her parents at the passing of her mother. No services are scheduled at this time.
