Ivan Howard Wright, age 73, of Summer Shade passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. He was born on July 1, 1949 in Glasgow, a son of the late Mamie B. Howard and Lewis Edward Wright. Mr. Wright was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran having served time in the United States Army. Ivan worked all of his life as a farmer, and had a special love for his horses.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Garrett Wright of Summer Shade; three daughters, Melinda McNew and husband Martin, and Melanie Tooley and husband Casey both of Summer Shade, and Kim Lambert and husband Owen of Fountain Run; one son, Mason Wright and wife Kela of Summer Shade; sister, Rosalie Calloway and husband Jim of Georgetown; brother, Evans Wright of Gamaliel; grandchildren, Trent Tooley and wife Riley, and Troy Tooley, Taylor Davis and husband Holden, Madelyn, Marissa, and Macy McNew, and Kason, Kendall, and Khloe Wright, and Kaci Ray; great grandchildren, Tatum Tooley, Jett Tooley, Kilee Ray, Bayler Ray, Aiden Adwell, and Landon Wilkerson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Wilkerson.
Funeral services
will be conducted on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. from the chapel
of McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow on the Wright Family Farm.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 4 P.M until 8 P.M and on
Wednesday, October 26 from 8 A.M until service time at 1 P.M, at the funeral
home. Military rights will be held by D.A.V Chapter 20 out of
