Melvin Cecil Lemons, Jr. 62 of Sellersburg, IN
passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at the University of Louisville with his
family by his side. Mr. Lemons was born in New Albany, IN to the late Melvin
Cecil Lemons, Sr. and Violet Marie Nickols Lemons of New Albany, IN. Mr. Lemons loved hunting, fishing, archery,
and was a well-known self-contractor and of the Christian Faith.
Survivors include his mother, Violet Marie Nickols Lemons of New Albany, IN; daughters, Misty Marie Lemons of New Albany, IN ShyAnne Erwin (Joesph) of Cecila, KY; sisters, Anna Lee Daltilo of Cave City, KY, Debra Sue Evans (Phil Abell) of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Hailey Marie, Alexis Lee, Alivia, Ryder, and Layla.
In addition to is father he is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Lynn Lemons.
A private service was held for the family on December 22, 2025, with burial in the Beaumont Cemetery.
McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
