Mary Margie Furkin


 

Mary Margie Willis Furkin, 90, of Williow Shade, KY passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital with her family by her side.  Margie was born on February 28, 1936, in Dubree, KY, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Maymie White Willis.  Mrs. Furkin was a retired Assembly line worker for Mallory’s of Glasgow and she loved her hummingbirds, bird watching and watching any type of western show on her TV. She was a member of Waterview Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons Tommy (Vickie) Furkin, Jeff (Jackie) Furkin; one daughter Mitzi Martin (Ricky Geralds); a bomas daughter Lecia Priuitt; Grandchildren Heath, Ashley, Seth, Ryan, Chris, Kelsey, Kristy, Felicha, Summer, along with 19 great-grandchildren; siblings Roger (Rita) Willis, Larry (Bonnie) Willis, Jerry (Glenda) Willis, Carol Garmon, Doneda Rich, Barbara (Bobby) Pierce, Gaile Stailey and Kathy (Doug) Flutty; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Furkin, one daughter Joy Furkin Jessie. Three brothers Jimmy, Malcolm and Donald.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in Beaumont Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday from 8:00 am until time for service.

McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rondel "Chatter" Alexander Scott


 Rondel “Chatter” Alexander Scott, 87, of Edmonton, KY, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Cumberland County, KY, on June 22, 1939, to the late Homer and Ruth Scott. Chatter was of the Methodist Faith and was retired as a self-employed concrete operator. He had a great passion for riding horses, mules and loved coon hunting. Chatter loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

 Survivors include his loving wife of thirty five years Patsy Anderson Scott; four children Anderia Decker, Rhonda Anderson (Jared), Chad Burks (Megan), Samatha Gilbert (Buddy); two step children Leslie Smith (Mike) and Libby Burris (David Shaw); fifteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother Bobby Scott (JoAnn); One sister Sherry Lee; three brothers-in-law Freddie Anderson (Lisa), Lonnie Anderson and Ronnie Anderson (Terri); several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.

 In addition to his parents, Chatter is preceded in death by his son Stephen Rondel Scott and one great grandson Tristen Coomer.

 In accordance with Chatter’s wishes, cremation has been honored and no services are scheduled at this time. McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade is assisting the family.
