Helen Parrish Johnson



   Helen Parrish Johnson, age 76, of Beaumont, died Sunday, December 25, 2016, at T J Samson hospital. 


   Born May 4, 1940 in Beaumont, she was a daughter of the late Travis Lee and Mary Eunice Goodhue Parrish.


    She is survived by one sister in law Anis Parrish, Glasgow and several nieces and nephews.


  She was preceded in death besides her parents, by four brothers John Will, Dallas (Cotton), Curtis and Allen (Whitey) Parrish and two sisters, Bernice Parrish and her twin, Hilda Parrish Phillips.


 Graveside services will be held Tuesday December 27, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. behind their home in Beaumont.

Jackie Tim Strode


  
   Jackie Tim Strode, 60, of the Eighty Eight community, died December 22, 2016 at his home.

   He was born May 1, 1956 in Tompkinsville to the late James Strode and Della Hurt Strode who survives. He retired from SKF (Tyson Bearing Co) after 37 years as a maintenance man.

   He is survived by one son, Tim (Bridget) Strode of Glasgow.  Three sisters, Betty Blankenship of Edmonton, Joyce (Terry) Blythe of Louisville and Barbara (Mickey) White  of Marrowbone. Two brothers, Jody Strode and Kenny (Sylvia) Strode of Tompkinsville.   He is also survived by three grandchildren, Noah, Ian and Lydia Strode.  Jackie was preceded in death by his father.

   Funeral Services will be December 27 at 11:00 am at McMurtrey Funeral Home with viewing starting Monday, December 26 from 2:00 pm till 8pm.  Burial will be in the Summer Shade Cemetery.
   Alternative expressions of sympathy are suggested to the Gideon’s International

Nora Elizabeth ( Libby) Shirley


   Nora Elizabeth (Libby) Stephens Shirley, age 79, of Edmonton, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Glenview Health Care.

   She was a daughter of the late Finis Newton and Beulah Gladys Froedge Stephens and the widow of the late Bobby Shirley.

   She is survived by two sisters, Marie (Ron) Lytle and Mary (Dennis) Fancher both of IN; four brothers James (Red) Stephens, and Rondal Stephens both of Edmonton, Jimmy Stephens and Jessie Stephens, both of IN; one special niece and care giver Velvet Philpot; and several nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death besides her parents and husband by one sister, Martha Bragg and several half brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cedar Flat cemetery in Edmonton, Ky.

Ronald (Ronnie) Hilary Underwood Sr








   Ronald (Ronnie) Hilary Underwood, age 80, of Summer Shade, died Friday, December 16, 2016 at his residence.

  Born January 12, 1936, in Foley Alabama, he was a son of the late Ted and Dorothy English Underwood. He was the husband of Nancy Sharon Wells Underwood, who survives. They were married 50 years.

      He was retired from Alabama Power Company. He loved farming, fishing, hunting and his old dog, Rick. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

   Survivors, other than his wife include, one daughter Antoinette and her husband Scott  Lorenzen, Bloomington, IN; two sons Ronald (Ronnie) and his wife, Romana, Underwood Jr, Willow Shade, Ky and Michael and his wife, Robyn Underwood, Summer Shade; two sisters, Iris Thomson, San Antonia, TX and Gloria Meredith, Baton Rogue, LA; one brother Marshall and his wife Sandy Underwood, Summer Shade; and eight grandchildren, Jason, Elliot, and Wyatt Underwood, Emily Just, Erin Underwood, E J Underwood, Jacob and Joshua  Lorenzen; and several nieces and nephews.

  He was preceded in death besides his parents by one sister Mildred Nelson, and his mother and father in law, Roy and Mildred Wells.

   Funeral services will be Monday, December 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Marshall Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Gee Harvey Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, December 18, 1:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday after 7:00 a.m. until time of services.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project (woundedwarriorsproject.org) or St Jude’s.

Lawrence W Forrest

Fairland, Indiana Lawrence W Forrest, 89, passed Monday, December 12, 2016. 

Survived by Betty L. Forrest, wife of 68 years, five sons,  Lawrence Christopher Forrest, Kelly Forrest (deceased), Colin Forrest, Joe Forrest , Adam Forrest; two daughters, Marta McKrill, Tracey Kirkpatrick; five Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. 

Born in Illinois, raised in Summer Shade, KY, the last surviving child of George Washington Forrest and Genevieve “Jannie” Forrest (Connor). He was preceded in death by Mother, Father and nine other siblings. 

Veteran of World War II, Japanese occupation force. He was a graduate Summer Shade High School; class of 46’, and later graduate of Berean Babtist College. He was an author of religious tracts and multiple religious inspired manuscripts. For many years he volunteered and was a leader in local fellowship functions. He spent many years working in the Indianapolis area as a Master Machinist. His life was inspired by his interests that led him to be an avid outdoorsman, hunter, adventurer and committed father and husband. All that knew him, knew of his most impassioned interest of the West and Southwest regions of the country, where throughout the years, he enjoyed many trips and adventures with many family and friends. 

Services will be held in Summer Shade, KY at McMurtrey Funeral Home on Friday December 16, 2016; viewing starts at 10 AM, service to be held at 1:00 PM. Graveside service to follow, by family only.

TERESA KAY LILE ABNER






   Teresa Kay Lile Abner, age 58, of Summer Shade, died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her daughters residence.

   Born August 20, 1958 in Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lile and Wanda Froedge Lile, Summer Shade, who survives.

   She was a member of House of Prayer Church in Edmonton.

   Survivors, in addition to her mother, include two daughters Amy (Todd) Largent and Marquetta Lile both of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Trevor (Chastin) Largent, Tristan (Felicia) Hoots, Tanon Largent, and Chezney Lile; and one great grandchild Blayklee Largent.

   Besides her father, she was preceded in death by one great grand child, Ellie May Hoots and two infant sisters Rita and Robin Lile and one infant brother Robert Lile.

   Funeral services will be Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Phil Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will begin Friday, December 9, 2016 at 2:00, and on Saturday after 8:00 am until time of services.

Howard Albert Chancellor




Howard Albert Chancellor, age 69 of Edmonton died December 7, 2016 at the T J Samson Hospital in Glasgow.

He was born in Charleston, Illinois to the late Lewis and Alma Dean Cutright Chancellor. He was a carpenter and of the Baptist faith and a Veteran.

He is survived by one sister Sandra Waters of Illinois and A caregiver Lisa Guerrero.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Edith Smith.

A memorial service will be held later as cremation was chosen.

PAMELA ANN SHAW STINSON




   Pamela Ann Shaw Stinson, age 43, of Edmonton, died Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

   Born March 26, 1973 in Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late William (Ben) and Mary Margaret Gwinn Shaw.

   She was a welder at Felker Brothers.

    Survivors include one daughter, Makayla Stinson, Glasgow; one son Ryan Whitlow, Summer Shade; two sisters, Anita (Jimmy) Turner, Tompkinsville and Sheila (Chester)  Whitlow, Edmonton; five brothers, Ray (Polly) Shaw, Edmonton, Danny (Becky) Shaw, Red Boiling Springs, TN, Ricky Shaw, Summer Shade, David (Donna) Shaw, Summer Shade, and Tim Shaw, Edmonton; one grandchild Jamilyn Depp; her fiancĂ© Brian Musk; and several nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death besides her parents, by one brother Keith Shaw, one nephew Dustin Shaw, one great niece Kaylee Young, and her grandparents, Glen and Susan Shaw and Garnett and Ruth Gwinn.

   Funeral services will be Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Ray Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Joe Field Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home is Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, after 7:00 a.m. until time of services.

RUBY PRISCILLA FEASTER JOHNS




   Ruby Priscilla Feaster Johns, age 66, of Edmonton, died Sunday, December 4, 2016 at  her residence.

   Born September 3,1950 in Colombia, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Beatrice and Eugene Feaster and the widow of the late Bently Loving Johns Jr..

   She worked at Cromer Peanut in food processing.

   Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Frank, Teresa Nespit, and Dawn Marie Johns, all of Edmonton; three sons Russell Blanchard, South Carolina, Jonathan Blanchard, Summer Shade, and Christopher Blanchard, Edmonton; three sisters, Diane Gantt, Lib Smith and Pat Byron all of South Carolina; one brother Mark Feaster, FL;  eight grandchildren Devan Wright, Dallas Blanchard, Priscilla Blanchard, Camron Parke, Scott Nesbit, Luke Dallas Wright, Jessie Blanchard, and Halie Blanchard; and one great grand child.

   She was preced in death besides her parents and husband by one brother Johnny Feaster and one sister Betty Thompson.

   A memorial service will be held at a later date, as cremation was chosen.

GARY RAY WEBB


   Gary Ray Webb, age 62, of Summer Shade, died Saturday, December 3, 2016, at T J Samson Hospital.

   Born August 20, 1954 in Morehead, Ky, he was a son of the late Edna Wilson Webb Skaggs and Mack Webb, and the husband of Margie Ann Walker Webb, who survives. They were married 35 years.

   He was a security guard and a musician. He was a Christian.

   Survivors include, one daughter, Rebecca (Kevin) Vibbert, Gamaliel; two sons, Gary Webb, Glasgow and Mack (Joanna) Webb, Summer Shade; one step son, Doyle Turner, Summer Shade; two sisters Kathy Lunsford, Georgetown and Rhonda Wilson, VA; two brothers Tommy Webb, Tompkinsville, and Tim Wilson, Georgetown; four granddaughters, Shandra and Kendall Webb, Christian and Autumn Vibbert, and two grandsons, Agustin Leonidea and Mack Webb II.

   He was preceded in death besides his parents, by one brother Allen Wilson, one sister Linda Wilson, and one step daughter Mary Ann Davis.
   Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the White Cemetery Chapel, with burial to follow in the White Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be Monday, December 5, 2016 from 1:00 till 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday after 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 a.m.

   Johnny Dale Parke, age 47, of Edmonton, died Friday, November 25, 2016, at his residence.

   Born September 16, 1969 in Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Donnie Davis Parke and Janice Faye Ferguson Freidhof. 

   He was a carpenter.

   Survivors include three sons, Jessie Parke, Summer Shade, William (Megan) Parke, Summer Shade and Clayton Parke, Summer Shade; two sisters Betsy (Billy) Moore, Edmonton, and Carol Faye Huff, Bowling Green; one brother, Cyrus Joseph Freidhof, Waterloo, Iowa; two grandchildren, Kyle and Cambree Parke; three nephews, Tristen Proffitt, Toxie Moore, and Braden Joe Freidhof; one niece,  Aaliyah Huff;  his fiancĂ©, Sandra Dyer, and her daughter, Abby Groce; his step father, Myron Freidhof, Elma, Iowa; and the mother of his children Robin Parke.

   He was preceded in death besides his parents by one niece, Sidney Proffitt.

Emily Jean Shumpert, age 43 of Edmonton died November 9, 2016 at TJ Samson hospital in Glasgow.

Born in St. Louis on July 21, 1973 to the late Jerry Eugene Shumpert and Emma Jean Turner who survives. She worked as a cashier and was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one brother Jerry Shumpert II.

Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later time.

   Cathy Ann Bratcher, age 66, of Summer Shade, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at her residence.

   She was a daughter of the late Danel and Eva Vibbert Gregory. She was a homemaker.

   Survivors include one daughter Tammie Goad, Summer Shade; two sons, Doug (Susan) McFarland, Tompkinsville and Oliver Bratcher;  three sisters, Rachel Caldwell, Louise Branham and Bonnie Jackson; one brother, Ronnie Gregory;  eight grandchildren, Heather, Kerrie and Ashley McFarland, Frankie Holmes, Dylan McFarland, Jack Paull, Victoria Benham , and Jacob Paull; nine great grandchildren; and special friend Beverly Hagan and companion George Costello.

   She was preceded in death besides her parents, by one son David McFarland four brothers Bobby, Walter, and Roger Gregory and husband Henry Bratcher.

Calvin Wayne Shaw, age 65, of Tompkinsville, Ky. died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

   Born January 28, 1951, in Dubre Kentucky, he was a son of the late Finis and Lillian Parke Shaw, and the husband of Becky Shaw, who survives. They were married 38 years.

   He was a dispatcher for Monroe County and a member of the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ.

   In addition to his wife,  survivors include one daughter, Gina Netherton, Tompkinsville; one son, Jonathan (Jessica) Shaw, Rock Bridge; three sisters, Della Shaw, Columbia, Lois Wright, Marrowbone, and Nellie Shaw, Marrowbone; one brother, Charles Whitlow, Columbia; three grandchildren, Kaden Thomas Netherton, Abby Grace Shaw, and Keaton Wade Shaw; and his mother in law, Jeanette Harlan.

   Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delpha Meredith, and an infant sister, and one brother Ed (Bull Man) Shaw.

   Funeral services will be Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ, with Brother Tim McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in the Harlan’s Crossroads Cemetery.    Survivors include one son, Charlie (Heather) Payne, Glasgow; his partner of 25 years, Jessie Mattax; one sister, Brenda (Richard) Pook, Glasgow; two brothers; Dale (Ann) Payne, Glasgow and Roger (Dorothy) Payne, Glasgow;  six grandchildren, Evan, Austin, Candler, Chance, Ridge, and Kristen; the children of his partner, Redonna (Chris) Isenberg, and Misty (Josh) Burton; and their grandchildren Mahalia, Ethan, Zach, and Amber.

   A memorial services will be held at a later date, as cremation was chosen.

John Michael Propes


John Michael Propes, age 66 of Tompkinsville died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tn.

  Born December 14, 1949 in Willow Shade, Ky. to the late Albert Denton and Martha Cordelia Ballard Propes.

  He was a carpenter and a member of the Church of Christ.

  Survivors are one son Jonathan Propes and three daughters, Lorrie Nixon, Tonya Propes and Johnna Propes, five sisters Nella Stewart, Nancy Spear, Becky Rhoton, Shirley Vibbert and Patty Adams, one brother Jackie Propes, and one grand child Aubrey Thompson.

  In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by three brothers, Mac, Boyd and Danny Propes.

  A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Billy Earl Powell


    Billy Earl Powell, age 72 of Cosby, TN died October 11, 2016 at the Newport Medical Center in Newport, Tn.

    Born June 4, 1944 in Hegira, Ky. to the late Lucian and Opal Wray Powell and was the husband to Brenda Powell

    He created wooden lamps for the retail industry around Pigeon Forge, Tn. and was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the United States Army.

    Survivors, in addition to his wife are one daughter Sherry (Chris) Mooneyham of Edmonton, one step daughter Stacey Mooneyham; one son Billy Joe (BJ) Powell of Cosby and a step son Martin Mooneyham of Crosby; two brothers Jim Powell and wife Delcie  of Burkesville, John Powell and wife Cheryl Denice of Albany and Larry (Porky) Powell and wife Judy of Beaumont, two grandchildren Shana Jessie and Shane Davis

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Ronnie Powell.

    Funeral services will be Friday – October 14, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Rose of Sharon Church in Burkesville, Ky. with burial to follow in the Rose of Sharon Cemetery.

   Annie Aline Froedge Whitlow, age 91, of Edmonton, died October 7, 2016 at Metcalfe Health Care.

   Born May 26, 1925 in Metcalfe County, she was a daughter of the late John Rosevelt and Velma Garmon Froedge, and the widow of the late Bernice Cole Whitlow.

   She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors include one daughter Sharlotte Whitlow, Edmonton; two sons Marshall Reid (Marie) Whitlow, Bonnieville, and Neddie Ray (Betty) Whitlow, Edmonton; three brothers, Bobby, Billy, and Larry Dale Froedge, all of Edmonton; six grandchildren, Bobby Thurman, Daniel Whitlow, Crystal Welden, Ivy Hatton, Kimberly Whitlow and Reid Whitlow; two step grandchildren Johnny and Billy Robertson; and fourteen great grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death besides her parents and husband, by four sister and five brothers.

Johnny Glen Thrasher, age 70, of Burkesville, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Cumberland County Hospital.

   Born June 16, 1946 in Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Edgar and Eva (Carter) Thrasher.

   He was a farmer.

   Survivors include his wife Charlene Thrasher, Burkesville; two daughters, Sandra and Tonya Thrasher, Peru, IN; one step daughter Lenneta (Billy) Brothers, Indianapolis, IN; three sisters, Sue Confer, Edmonton, Myrtle Herndon and Kathy (Jim) Purvis, Bluffton, IN; one brother Steve Thrasher, Bluffton, IN; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death besides his parents, by five brothers, James, Bill, Bob, Otha and Jack Thrasher and one sister Becky Thrasher.

   Rondal (Boomer) Kyle Shoopman, age 59, of Willow Shade, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at his residence.

   Born September 6, 1957 at Willow Shade, he was a son of the late James H and Macy Alene Ballard Shoopman.

   He worked for the Metcalfe County Road Department and was a farmer.

   Survivors include one son Anthony Kyle Shoopman, Willow Shade; one step daughter, Amanda Worley, Center; one brother, Doug Shoopman, Willow Shade; one sister in law, Barbara Shoopman, Willow Shade;  one brother in law, Larry Shaw, Willow Shade; and two beloved dogs, Little Man and Roxie.

   Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, Robert, and Gary Shoopman, Clarence Gibbons and one sister, Judy Shaw.

   Funeral services will be Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, September 16, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. and on Saturday after 7:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00.

ALICIA GAIL MAY THURMOND




   Alicia Gail May Thurmond, age 31, of Edmonton, died Thursday, September 8, 2016, as a result of a car accident.

   Born April 15, 1985 in Sylva, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late James Clinton May and Deana Mae Freeman May, Edmonton, who survives, and the wife of William David Thurmond III, who survives.

   She worked at Shuffets Adult Day Care in Edmonton and was a christian.

   Survivors in addition to her husband and mother, include one daughter, Kyly Angela Thurmond and two sons, Taylor Scott and Tristan Layne Thurmond, all of Edmonton; two brothers James Daniel May, Edmonton and Clinton David (Laura) May, Jacksonville, North Carolina; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

   She was preceded in death, besides her father, by her grandmothers Rebekah May and Betty Freeman.

   Funeral services will be Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Briartown Baptist Church, in Nantahala, North Carolina, with burial to follow in the Briartown Cemetery. Visitation will be at the McMurtrey Funeral Home on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Briartown Baptist Church in Briartown North Carolina, from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral services.

   Stevie Dale Harper, age 53, of Summer Shade, died Sunday, August 28, 2016, at his residence.

   Born December 11, 1962 in Tompkinsville, he was a son of the late Darrell Harper and Joyce Vibbert Harper, who survives.

   He was a logger and truck driver, and of the Church of Christ faith.

   Survivors, in addition to his mother include three daughters, Michela (Josh) Page, Tompkinsville, Sierra Harper, Tompkinsville, and Brittany Harper, Summer Shade; two sons RD Harper, Tompkinsville and Joey Meers, Louisville and other special children Ryan Purcell, Dillon Maynard and Tasha Jewell; one sister Sheila (Ed) Smith, Summer Shade; four grandchildren, Preston and Penelope Page, Kade Swift, and Isabel Onate; two nieces, Suelena Smith and Cassie (Eric) Reece; and four great nephews Chandler, Jayden, Issac, and Kessler.

   He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Harper.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Hickory College Church of Christ, at 2:00 p.m., with Jason Page officiating. Burial will follow in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hickory College Church of Christ, in the Randolph community, highway 640 in Metcalfe County, and on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 after 8:00 a.m., at the church, until time of services.

Joseph P. Doyen of Summer Shade died August 24, 2016 at his home. A memorial service will be held later as cremation was chosen.

ETHEL MAE BARBOUR CAWTHORN




   Ethel Mae Barbour Cawthorn, age 83, of No Bob, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at T J Samson Hospital.

   Born July 8, 1933 in Eighty Eight, she was a daughter of the late Fondal Felix Barbour and Mallie Mathews Barbour.

   She was a mother, housewife and factory worker. She was a member of the Mt Poland Missionary Baptist Church.

   Survivors include two sons, Darrell Wayne (Wanda Jean) Cawthorn, Gamaliel and Timothy “Sunshine” Farrell Cawthorn, No Bob; one brother Emmett Erroll Barbour, No Bob; five grandchildren, Anitra Dannielle Stamps, Katie Mae Cawthorn, Amanda Jean Cawthorn, Malina Ann Cleary, and Cody Damon Cawthorn; and six great grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by two grandchildren Clinton Lee Cawthorn and John Daniel Cawthorn; two sisters Milly Lee Barbour and Mary Emoline Wolfe; and the father of her children C P Cawthorn.

   Funeral services will be Friday, August 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Billy Michael Stinson and Brother Paul (Cricket) Strong officiating.

Burial will follow in the White Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will begin Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 2:00-9:00 p.m. and on Friday after 7:00 a.m. until time of services.

   Pamela Ann Harrison Harper, age 49, of Edmonton, died Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

   Born May 8, 1967 in Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Joyce ( Huff) and Kenneth  Harrison, and the wife of Brandon Harper, who survives.

   She was a house wife and of the Presbyterian faith.

   Survivors in addition to her husband, include four daughters, Nicole (Robert) Jewell, Edmonton, Wendy McCoy, Glasgow, Holly McCoy, Glasgow and Shelby Mc Coy, Glasgow;  niece, Ashley Duvall, Glasgow; nephew, Thomas Ferrell, Glasgow; five grandchildren; and one sister Anita Conner, Glasgow.

   She was preceded in death besides her parents by one grandchild, Katie Kereney, and one sister Vicki Harrison.

   Funeral services will be Monday, August 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Lick Branch Church in Kino, burial will follow in the Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 22, 2016  from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

Wanda Lou Nunnally Ball, age 72 of Summer Shade died August 2, 2016 at the T J Samson hospital.

 Born July 3, 1944 in Glasgow, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Houston and Mary Nell Stephens Nunnally.

 She retired from the Farm Service Agency as a program assistant and was a member of the Hickory College Church of Christ.

 Wanda is survived by her husband Charles Ball, one daughter, Alisa Grimes (Steven) of Bowling Green, a son, Kenny Ball of Randolph  and  two grandchildren Zack and Jordan Grimes one sister Mary Lee (Donald) Sandidge of Summer Shade.

 Funeral services will be Friday, August 5, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery.  Visitation will start August 4, 2016 from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Friday from 7:00 A.M. till time for services.

Matthew Allen Vane Rhinehart, age 29 of Glasgow died July 24 at his home.

Born March 10, 1987 in Glasgow, Ky. to Sandra Jones DeHart and David Rhinehart who survive.


In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters; Emily (Glenn) Coffman of Beech Grove and Sara (Cody) Pullen of Japan. One brother Seth Rhinehart of Ohio, one grand mother Juanita Jones and step father Michael DeHart

He is preceded in death by grandparents Dearil Jones and Allen and Lizzie Rhinehart.

A memorial service will be held Sunday July 31, 2016 from 12:00 noon till 2:00 P.M. at the Sulphur Well Park in Sulphur Well.

   Anna Marie Smith Taylor, age 85, of Glasgow, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at T J Samson Hospital.

   Born April 15, 1931, in Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Ada (Bridges) Smith, and the wife of Joe Taylor, who survives.

   She retired from Kentucky Pants and was of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors, in addition to her husband, include  three daughters, Sue (Donald) Furlong, Beckton, Linda (Dwayne) Belcher Wray, Summer Shade, and Rita (Neal) Holman, Smiths Grove; one son, Johnny Kinslow, Finney; three sisters Mary Ann Nichols and Pauline McClellan, Glasgow and Mildred Hamilton, Crawfordsville, IN; two brothers, James Smith, Crawfordsville, IN and Richard Smith, Thorntown, In; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

   Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Kinslow, one step son Eric Taylor, two sisters Joyce Childress and Jean Carbo, three brothers Joe Smith, Herbert Smith, and Robert Smith, one daughter-in-law, Andrea Kinslow, one son-in-law Bobby Belcher and one great grand daughter Raven Andrea Coats.

   Funeral services will be Friday, July 15, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Bro Darrell Costello, officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. MARILYN FAYE LOHDEN STAPLES


 

    Marilyn Faye Lohden Staples, age 71, of Glasgow, died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky.

    Born January 3, 1945 in Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Albert Henry and Betty Maxine (Cross) Lohden, and the widow of the late J.P. Staples.

    She was a retired school bus driver of 24 years and an industrial painter. She was of the Baptist faith.

    Survivors include two daughters, Sue (Mark) Elmore, Glasgow and Charmaine (Eddie) Parsley, Glasgow; one step daughter, Faye (Larry) Green, Glasgow; one sister, Judy (Lonnie Wayne) Winchester, Edmonton; one brother, Danny (Rhonda) Lohden, Edmonton; two grandsons, Brock and John Elmore, Glasgow; one step grandson, Edward Parsley, Greensburg; three step grand daughters, Deanna Parsley, Traci Lyn Green, and Melody (Scott) Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

    Funeral services will be Sunday, June 19, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens, in Glasgow.

   Visitation will be Saturday, June 18, 2016, from 1:00-8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, June 19, 2016 after 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

   Richard (Ricky) Wayne Paull, age 57, of Summer Shade, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 on the family farm in Summer Shade.

   Born April 16, 1959, in Glasgow, he was a son of Dorothy (Turner) and Harold Paull, Summer Shade, who survive, and the husband of Robin Paull, who also survives. They were married 33 years.

   He was foreman of East Anderson Hardwoods and a farmer, and a member of the Beaumont Methodist Church.

   Survivors in addition to his wife and parents, include one son, Jarred Paull, Georgetown; one daughter, Jessica (Joe) Priddy, Smiths Grove; three sisters, Kelly (Robert) Bell, Edmonton, Amy (Todd) Morgan, Burkesville, Jenny (Shane) Blankenship, Scottsville; one grandchild Ava Paull;  several nieces and nephews; and mother and father in law, Carlos and Betty Carter, Tompkinsville,

   Funeral services will be Friday, June 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Beaumont Methodist Church; burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery.    Mario Tom Valdez, age 64 of Glasgow died May 20, 2016 at NHC healthcare.

He was a son of Gilbert Tom Valdez, who survives and the late Mary Valdez.

   He was maintenance worker in the hospitality industry and of the Catholic faith.
   He is survived by one son, Marcus Lee Valdez, Glasgow and one grand daughter Makayla Valdez.

   He was preceded in death by his mother and granddaughter Aurora.

  Cremation was chosen and services will be held at a later date.

   Ellie May Hoots, stillborn daughter of Felicia Ceara-Marie Whitt and John Tristan Hoots, of Edmonton, died Friday, May 13, 2016 at T J Samson Hospital.
   In addition to her parents she is survived by maternal grandparents, Tina DeVore and Michael  Whitt, and paternal grandparents Marquetta Lile and Jason Hoots; maternal great grandparents Nancy Crawhorn and Danny Whitt; paternal great grand parents Mark Abner and Teresa Abner and John and Shirley Hoots; one great great grandparent Wanda Lile; three aunts,
Chezney Lile, Kimber Hoots, and Destiny Turner; and two uncles, Cory Whitt and Josh Whitt.
   She is preceded  in death by one great grandparent Ivan Wray.
   Private graveside services will be held.

Joyce Edwards Palmore







Joyce Edwards Palmore, 87, of Burlington, KY, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Villaspring of Erlanger.  She was born on the family farm in the Hickory College community of Metcalfe County on February 18, 1929, the daughter of the late Oather and Mattie (Shirley) Edwards.  Mrs. Palmore was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Dianne Morgan.  She was retired as a receiving clerk of over 25 years at Baylis Brothers-Polly Flinders, a division of U.S. Industries in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She was a member of the Florence Church of Christ, Florence, Kentucky.  Survivors include her loving husband of over 68 years, James R. Palmore of Burlington; her son David R. Palmore of Villa Hills, KY; her son-in-law, William R. Morgan of Burlington; grandson, Keith R. Morgan and his wife, Christen Morgan of Burlington; great grandson, Carson B. Dotta Jean Shields Burbridge, age 81 of Edmonton went to be with her Lord on April 23, 2016 at Signature Health Care in Horse Cave. She was a faithful believer in the doctrine of God.
Born in Baileysville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Ruby Shannon Shields and the wife of Steven Burbridge who survives.
She was an underwriter in the insurance industry and a member of the Church of God in Anderson, In.
Survivors in addition to her husband is one brother Donald Shields of Anderson, In.
In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by one sister Sammie Shields.
A private service will be held later, as cremation was chosen.

   Leona Patricia Kaczorowski, age 68, of Summer Shade, died at her home Wednesday, April 20, 2016.
   Born April 12, 1948, in Chicago, IL she was a daughter of Leonard and Josephine Jarosz Kaczorowski and the widow of Howard Anthony Heatter.
   She worked as a chef.
    She is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Bob) Wardell, Ottawa, IL.
   She was preceded in death besides her parents and husband by one son Robert Michael Heatter.

   Cremation was chosen.

   Randy Ray McCoy, age 50, of Summer Shade, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at his home.
   Born October 25, 1965 in Glasgow, he was a son of Carolyn Harner McCoy, Savoy, IL and Randall McCoy, Summer Shade, who survive.
   He worked in the electrical industry, was a Christian, and was a Navy veteran. He went to school in Temple Hill, KY and Urbana, IL.
   Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two daughters, Cayla McCoy, Lexington, and Angie Reddick, Champaign, IL; two sons Cody McCoy, Montana, and Chris McCoy, Bowling Green, KY; four sisters, his twin Rhonda (Doug) Eckerty, Gibson City, IL, Tammy McCoy, Rantoul, IL, Darla McCoy, Phoenix, AZ, and Karen (Ben) Molinar, Conroe, TX; five grandchildren; eighteen nieces and nephews;  special friend, Kim Green; and the mother of his children, Sherry Ginter.
    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, C W and Pernie McCoy and Lucille and Jim Watson.
   Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., CST, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Mark Parks, officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery.    Sue Carol Cutrell Reynolds, age 62, of Summer Shade, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at her residence.
   Born May 26, 1954, in Lebanon, TN, she was a daughter of the late Henry Ford Cutrell and Martha Louise Lehew Cutrell and the wife of Benny Reynolds, who survives. 
    She was a cosmetologist.
   Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one step daughter, Amanda Reynolds, Bowling Green; one step son, Burt Reynolds, Cave City; two sisters, Ellen Oneal, Nashville and Betty Buhler, FL; and two step grandchildren, Cody Sexton and Lilyana Sexton. 
   Funeral services will be Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Mark Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. TOMMY "SLIM" GLEN MURLEY


   Tommy “Slim” Glen Murley, age 84, of Tompkinsville, died Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Monroe County Medical Center.
    Born April 1, 1932, in Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Bernice  Harvey Murley, and the husband of Melba Brown Murley, who survives. They were married 54 years.
   He was a farmer and a  sawyer at Anderson Forest Products for 20 years, and of the Church of Christ faith.
   Survivors, other than his wife, include one daughter Debra (Billy) Shoopman, Glasgow; one sister Catherine Dulworth, Celina; three grandchildren Jonathan (Lajill) Garrett, Amber (Derek) Scott, and Trevor Shoopman; and seven great grandchildren, Chandler, Braden, Pyper, Aiden, Ella, Hayden, and Leelan.
   He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by two brothers, John “Bill” Murley, an infant brother and one sister Ruby Murley.
   Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 4, from 2:00- 8:00 p.m. and after 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, until time of services.

  Hilda Parrish Phillips, age 75 of Beaumont died March 22, 2016 at the TJ Samson Hospital.
  She was born, May 4, 1940 in Beaumont, Ky. to the late Travis Lee and Mary Eunice Goodhue Parrish. Hilda was a member of the  Church of Christ.
  Survivors include her twin sister, Helen Parrish Johnson: one sister in law Anis Parrish; and several nieces and nephews.
   Preceding her death was her husband Glen Phillips of Texas four brothers, John Will Parrish, Dallas (Cotton) Parrish, Curtis Parrish and Allen (Whitey) Parrish and a sister Bernice Parrish.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday March 25, 2016 at the Beaumont United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the Parrish Home place. Visitation will be Thursday March 24, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home and from 8:00 A.M. till 11:00 A.M. at the Beaumont Church

   Shirley Sue Blythe Grider, age 66, of Burkesville, died Monday, March 14, 2016, at the Cumberland County Hospital.
   Born May 16, 1949 in Tompkinsville, she was a daughter of the late Bedford and Narcie (McWhother) Blythe, and the wife of Billy Dewayne Grider, who survives. They were married 49 years.
   She was a factory machine operator and a member of the Hanover Church of Christ.
   Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Tammy  (Joe England) Gentry, Tompkinsville, and Kimberly Mowers, Burkesville; one son, Joseph Dewayne (Amanda)  Grider, Burkesville; two sisters, Gale (Ron) Bridges, Summer Shade, and Linda (Roger) Hagan, Marrowbone; three brothers, Jr. (Sandy) Blythe, Alvaton, Steve (Teresa) Blythe, Tompkinsville, and Robert (fiancĂ© Chrystal) Blythe, Tompkinsville;  seven grandchildren, Trance Mowers, Heaven Leighann Mowers, Brandon Russell, Dustin Gentry, Zia Grider, and Avery and Exavier Alexander; and one great grand child, Destiny Rayne Moore.
   Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Willie Ray Blythe.

   Thelma Louann Webb Walker, age 59, of Summer Shade, died at her residence, March 6, 2016.
   Born June 30, 1956 in Morehead, KY, she was a daughter of the late Mack and Edna Wilson Webb and the wife of Raymond Walker, who survives.
   She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
   Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Judy (Bennie) Kirk, Tompkinsville and Mincie Meadows, Tompkinsville; one son, Kenneth M Rich, Summer Shade; one sister Kathy Lunsford, Georgetown; two brothers, Gary Webb, Summer Shade, and Tommy Webb, Tompkinsville; and three grandchildren, Justin Meadows, Makayla Kirk and Amber Kirk.
   She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by one son Billy Rich.
   Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the White Cemetery Chapel with Brother Timmy Glass officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Monday, March 7, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home and continue on Tuesday, March 8 after 7:00 until 12:30 and after 1:00 p.m. at the Whites Chapel.

   Vanessa Joy Furkin Jessie, age 54, of Glasgow, died February 27, 2016, as a result of an automobile accident.
    Born May 22, 1961 in Glasgow, Kentucky she was a daughter of the late Jerry Hodges Furkin and Mary Margie Willis Furkin, who survives. She was the wife of Terry H. Jessie who also survives.
   She was an employee of Express Logistics and of the Baptist faith.
   Survivors, in addition to her mother and husband, include one daughter, Ashley (Matt Skaggs) Rigsby, Edmonton; two sons, Heath Rigsby, Beaumont and Jerry Seth Rigsby, Willow Shade; one step daughter Terra Jessie, Glasgow; one sister Mitzi (Curtis) Martin, Randolph; two brothers Tommy (Vickie) Furkin, Beaumont and Jeff Furkin, Willow Shade; and four grandchildren Rilie Pruitt, Bristol Skaggs, Blaine Rigsby and William Rigsby.
   Besides her father, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Billy Rigsby.
   Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 2:00-8:00 and continue Wednesday, after 7:00 a.m. until time of services.

WILLIAM EUGENE PEDIGO


   William Eugene Pedigo, age 87, of Summer Shade, died Monday, February 22, 2016, at his residence.
   Born November 1, 1928, in Summer Shade, he was a son of the late James Fred and Maude Jennings Pedigo and the husband of the late Mattie Marie Huff Pedigo. They were married 62 years.
   He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
   Survivors, include one daughter Anita (Ronnie) Whitlow, Glasgow; and one son Donald (Sue) Pedigo, Summer Shade; two sisters, Bessie Bartley, Beaumont and Edith Duvall, Glasgow;  three grandchildren, Ronda (Todd) Sydnor, Ryan (Diane) Whitlow, Terran (Jason) Caffee; two step grandchildren, Danny and Michael Holley; three great grandchildren, Stephen Dakota Sydnor, Matthew Whitlow, and Ryanna Whitlow; two step great grandchildren, Mason and Dalton Caffee; and two great great grandchildren and one special friend Charlie York.
    He was preceded in death besides his parents, and wife, by one daughter, Lisa Capps, one grandchild, Montana Sydnor, one sister Mary Welch, four brothers Buddy, Hershal, Clayton and Earl Pedigo, and several half sisters and brothers.
   Funeral services will be Thursday, February 25, 2016, at 2:00 p. m. at the Summer Shade Baptist Church, with Brother Chad Harston officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 2:00 -8:00, at the Summer Shade Baptist Church and after 8:00 until time of services at the church.
   McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

BETTY BAKER BREWSTER

Betty Baker Brewster, age 89, of Summer Shade, died Friday, February 05, 2016, at NHC in Glasgow
   Born November 13, 1925, in Burkesville, KY, she was a daughter of the late C B and Bertha McCluskey Baker. She was the widow of the late Ray Brewster.
   She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith.
   Survivors include one grandchild, Shannon (John) Key, Summer Shade; two great grand children, Luke and Corbyn Key; one daughter in law, Lela Brewster; three sisters, Shirley, Kate and Lola; and one brother Weldon Baker.
   She was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip Dale and Roger Brewster; one brother Benny Baker, and two sisters Uldean and Beulah Baker.
   Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Mark Park. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 8, 2016 from 4 to 8 and after 7:00 AM on Tuesday, until time of the service.

Delmos Pauline Melton Brewster


   Delmos Pauline Melton Brewster, age 83, of Edmonton, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
   Born October 20, 1932 in Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Alf and Ethel Scott Melton, and the widow of the late Roy Fred Brewster.
   She was housewife and a Christian.
   Survivors, include five daughters, Pat (Bob) Dodson, Anderson, IN, Sue  Froedge, Edmonton, Donna Brewster, Park City, Martha Claywell, Glasgow, and Carol (Dennis) Bragg, Glasgow; five sons, Ronnie Brewster, Smiths Grove, Jeff Brewster, Edmonton, Tim (Melinda) Brewster, Edmonton, Chris Brewster, Glasgow, and Jessie Hodges, Glasgow; one brother, Ervin Melton, Edmonton; twenty eight, grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren;  and numerous great great grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death besides her parents, and husband by one son in law Gary Froedge, one sister Alline Gilbert;  eight brothers, Gene, Millard, Thomas, Willie, Charles, Everett, Hall and Alvie Melton; and three grandchildren, Logan Taylor Brewster, Andy Lynn Brewster and Brantley Brewster.
   Funeral services will be Sunday, February 7, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Jimmy Wilson and Jr Huff, officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday, February 6, 2019 at 3:00 PM and on Sunday, February 7, 2016 after 8:00 AM until time of services.
   Memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Fire Department or BRAWA.
 

   

EDWARD (BUDDY) GENTRY



      Edward Earl “Buddy” Gentry, age 69, of Summer Shade, died February 3, 2016, at the Monroe County Medical Center.
   Born January 23, 1947, in Summer Shade, KY.   He was a son of the late John Edward and Matry Huffman Gentry, and the husband of Debbie Jones Gentry, who survives.
  
   He was a farmer and of the Methodist faith.
  

   Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Tonya ( Jimmy) Edwards,           Glasgow and Nicole Gentry, Summer  Shade. Three grandchildren, Bo (Carey) Edwards, Cody Edwards and Jaycie Edwards and great grandson, Jack Edwards. He is also survived by step-children, Brandi Lawson, Neil Lawson both of Summer Shade. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

 Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Gentry, Mary Garrett, and Betty Thompson.

 Funeral services will be Saturday, February 6, 2016,  at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Visitation starting Feb 5, at 2:00 pm till 8:00 pm and Saturday 7:00 am till funeral time at the funeral home.

EDITH SUE JACKSON JONES


   Edith Sue Jackson Jones, age 68, of Tompkinsville, died Sunday, January 31, 2016, at her daughters residence.
   Born November 12, 1947 in Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Rene (Wisdom) and Riley Jackson and the widow of the late Louie Jones.
   She was a CNA at NHC in Glasgow and of the Baptist Faith.
   Survivors, include one daughter Debbie (Buddy) Gentry, Summer Shade; two sons, Franklin (Christy) Jones, Tompkinsville, and Ricky (Tammy) Jones, Tompkinsville; eight grandchildren, Jacob Jones, Josh, Austin and Kirsten Jones, Neil Lawson, Brandi Lawson, Nicole Gentry, Frank Jones, Ricky Allen Jones; one step grand child Casey Lawson; two great grandchildren, Hailey Lawson and Holden Cary; and one brother, Phillip (Mae) Jackson, Scottsville.
   She was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Dewayne Jones; and two sisters, Maxine Lemmons and Evelin Gore, and two brothers, Richard Wisdom and Paul Houchens Jr.
   Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Tim White officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.  Visitation will begin Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 1:00-8:00 PM and on Wednesday, after 7:00 AM until time of services.

Robert Faye (Honkey) Daniel

Robert Faye (Honkey) Daniel, age 75 of Burkesville died January 28, 2016 at the Cumberland County Hospital..
He was born October 24, 1940 in Kettle Kentucky
He was a residential painter and loved fishing.
He is survived by three daughters, Lenneta Brothers of Indianapolis, and Tessia and Katherine Humphrey of Burkesville and three sons Joseph and Dustin Humphrey of Burkesville and Jeffery Humphrey of Marrowbone. He has ten grandchildren, Thomas Brothers, William Brothers, Cassandra Walker, Haley Humphrey, Caleb Day, Axl Day, Damian Humphrey, Kadin Humphrey, Lydia Humphrey and Lillian Bragg.
He was preceded in death by one sister Diane Hurt and one brother Eddie (Tennessee) Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date as cremation was chosen.

JOYCE PAYNE ISENBERG



     Joyce Payne Isenberg, age 88, of Summer Shade, died January 24, 2016, at NHC is Glasgow.
   Born October 13, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Flossie Pedigo Payne, and the widow of the late Jimmy Isenberg, who died October 14, 2014.
   She was a homemaker and a member of the Summer Shade Christian Church.
   Survivors include four sons, Larry (Rose Mary) Isenberg, Glasgow, Donald (Phylis) Isenberg, Glasgow, Terry (Christina) Isenberg, Summer Shade, and Chris (Redonna) Isenberg, Summer Shade; four grandchildren, Erin, Courtney, Madison, and Parker; and four great grandchildren Colby, Oakley, Kailee and Preslie.
   Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the Summer Shade Christian Church, with Brother Bob Priest officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 2:00- 8:00 PM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Wednesday January 27, 2016 after 7:00 at the funeral home and at the Summer Shade Christian Church after 11:00 until time of services.

KENNETH GERALD HATTON


   Kenneth Gerald Hatton, age 33, of Edmonton, died January 17, 2016 at his residence.
   Born October 28, 1982 in Indianapolis, IN, he was a son of Kenneth Ray and Ruth Chappell Hatton, Edmonton, who survive.
   He worked at Donnelly’s.
   Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one sister, Stephanie Hatton, Beaumont; one brother, Charles Hatton, Glasgow; maternal grandparent Rose Mary (step-father, David) Fagg, Indianapolis, IN; and maternal grandfather, Gerald Chappell, Rockville, IN.
   He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Shelba Williams Hatton.
   Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 1:00; p.m. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday, January 19, 20116 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Wednesday, after 7 until time of services.

Tim Lee Carter Cain

Tim Lee Carter Cain, age 75 of Glasgow died January 14, 2016 at his residence.
He was born September 11, 1940 to the late Marion Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Grider Cain Sr. at Turkey Neck Bend, Ky. and is the husband of Peggy Kingrey Cain, who survives.
He was a truck driver.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Mary Lee (Willie) England and, Jennifer (Joey)Cardwell of Glasgow, Christie Cain of Texas, two sons Robin Reneau of Summer Shade and Darrin Cain of Louisville. Seven grandchildren Desire’ (Kevin) Davis, B.J. Reneau, Bailey Reneau, Katelyne Stinnett, William Daniel Delbert England, Mike (Barb) Cardwell, Joe Cardwell. Four Great grandchildren, Jace Norris Tyler (Callie) Cardwell, Jared Cardwell and Haylee Cardwell. One great great grandchild Maya Cardwell. Two sisters Elizabeth (Jimmy) Taylor, Gamaliel and Jessie (Pete) Tropoulas Frankfort, two brothers, Junior (Marsha) Cain Tompkinsville and Carmon (Phyllis) Cain of Indianapolis
In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by four sisters, Louise Graves, Dean Groce, Sarah Kerr and Judy Bryant, and brother Kenneth Cain, two sister in laws Juanita Cain and Alice Cain.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at the Union #2 Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will begin Friday, January 15, 2016 from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 7:00 A. M. – 9:00 P.M .and on Sunday Jan 17 from 8:00 – 12:00 A.M. at the funeral home. then after 12:30 until funeral time at the Union #2 Church.
