Dianne Parker-Kane

 

Dianne Parker-Kane, 61, of Brownsville, KY, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025. Dianne was born in Red Bud, IL, on October 10, 1964, to the late James and Alberta Parker.

Dianne was of the Pentecostal faith and belonged to the Pentecostals of Sparta Church in Sparta, IL. She loved church, gospel music, her family, and animals.

She leaves behind four children, daughters, Elisha England (Dusty) of Edmonton, KY, Candace Ann Clark of Summer Shade, KY, and April Gray (Michael) of Fordyce, AK; son, James Clark of Glasgow, KY; eight grandchildren, Clay England, Heather McGuffin, Charlie England, Andrew Russell, Hannah Russell, Tyler Houchins, Trinity Clark, and Sidney Eudy; 2 great grandchildren, Henry England and Colton McGuffin; siblings, Cindy Jones (Daniel) and Jimmy Parker.

Dianne entered her Lord and saviors’ arms with thanksgiving.

Melvin Cecil Lemons Jr.

 


Melvin Cecil Lemons, Jr. 62 of Sellersburg, IN passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at the University of Louisville with his family by his side. Mr. Lemons was born in New Albany, IN to the late Melvin Cecil Lemons, Sr. and Violet Marie Nickols Lemons of New Albany, IN.  Mr. Lemons loved hunting, fishing, archery, and was a well-known self-contractor and of the Christian Faith.

Survivors include his mother, Violet Marie Nickols Lemons of New Albany, IN; daughters, Misty Marie Lemons of New Albany, IN ShyAnne Erwin (Joesph) of Cecila, KY; sisters, Anna Lee Daltilo of Cave City, KY, Debra Sue Evans (Phil Abell) of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Hailey Marie, Alexis Lee, Alivia, Ryder, and Layla.

In addition to is father he is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Lynn Lemons.

A private service was held for the family on December 22, 2025, with burial in the Beaumont Cemetery.

McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Garnett Leonard Lee

 

Garnett Leonard Lee, 87, of Edmonton, KY passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Metcalfe Health Care Center. He was born in Danville, KY on September 14, 1938, to the late Marion and Elizabeth Baugh Lee.

 Mr. lee enjoyed working on lawn mowers, doing yardwork, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.

 Survivors include his wife, Martha Lee; four sons, Michael Lee (Shirley) of McKinney, KY, Joey Lee of Waynesburg, KY, Garnett Lee Jr. (Marie) of Junction City, KY and Sammy Lee (Angie) of Lebanon, KY; One daughter, Melanie Reister (Casey) of Nicholasville, KY; eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one sister, Juanita Mills of Lebanon, KY.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings Lucille Burchett, Margaret Roller, Pearl Pike, Thelma Lee, Frances Montgomery, Morris Lee, Robert Lee and James Lee.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, December 20, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:30am Saturday at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Lola Frances Pierce



Lola Frances Pierce, 76, of Bowling Green KY, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Bowling Green Medical Center. She was born in Albany KY, on June 25, 1949, to the late Johnny and Mary Upchurch Pierce. Lola was of the Christian faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Steven Pierce.

Survivors include her sister, Wanda Perdue (Brad) of Burkesville; nephews, Philip Pierce, Jonathan Pierce, Steven Pierce, and Casey Perdue; nieces; Dana Denny and Misty Davidson; and her aunt, Shirley Compton.

The family has chosen cremation and there are no services scheduled at this time.

McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lena Joyce Shaw

 


Lena Joyce Shaw, 89, of Glasgow, KY passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Magnolia Village Assisted Living in Bowling Green, KY. She was born in the Kino community of Barren County on December 20, 1935 to the late Corbin and Lillie Peers Ritter. She was preceded in death by her husband Philip Keith Shaw.

Mrs. Shaw was a member of the Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed doing seamstress work and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors inlcude two sons Jimmy Philip Shaw (Sherry) and Jerry Lee Shaw (Tammy) both of Glasgow, KY; four grandchildren Sarah Poland (Deric), Leah Moore (Andy), Susan Vanover (Corey), and Lillie Shaw; three great grandchildren Emma Kate Moore, Joe Thomas Moore, and Will Sutton Moore; two sisters Vonda Oliver and Glenda Gassaway and several nices and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by seven siblings Willie D. Ritter, Leroy Ritter, Allene Smith, Velma Hurt, Betty New, Ruth England, and Anis Parrish.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, December 13, 2025 at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00-8:00pm

Jimmy Rondel McFarland

 


Jimmy Rondel McFarland, 60, of Glasgow, KY, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his residence. He was born on April 1, 1965, to the late Carl and Hazel Lester McFarland. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jimmy enjoyed fishing, messing with his cattle, and being outdoors.

Survivors include his brothers, Dean McFarland (Audrey) of Glasgow, and Larry McFarland of Owenton; his special companion, Debbie Reynolds; a niece, Brittany Gardner (Chuck); a nephew, Jay McFarland (Gina); and his very special dogs, Lucy and Precious.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM Wednesday until time for the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to BRAWA Animal Shelter in Glasgow, KY.
