WILLIAM VEACHEL STARR


William Veachel Starr, age 98, of the 44 community of Barren County, passed away peacefully to his eternal home on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, surrounded by family and friends at his residence.

   Born April 27, 1919 in Nobob, he was a son of the late Louis Starr and Mattie E. Goode  Starr Shives, and the husband of Ruby Fields Starr, who survives. They were married for 69 years.

   He was a farmer and a member of Union # 2 Missionary Baptist Church since 1940.

   Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one daughter,  Mary (Billy)  Baise, Glasgow; two sons, Larry (Linda) Starr, Marion, Ky and Jerry (Geneva) Starr, Glasgow; four grandchildren, Jason Starr, Zackary and Andrew Baise, all of Glasgow, and Sheila  (Chuck) Jones, Austin, Ky; and two great grandchildren, Gracie and Noah Jones, Austin, Ky,

   Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Jewell Simmons, Susie Garrett, Mary Nell Steen, and Gladys Simmons and two brothers, Robert Starr and Ray Starr.

   Funeral services will be Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.  at Union #2 Missionary Baptist Church, with Brother Berlon Roy officiating, burial will follow in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 29, 2017, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the funeral home from 8:00-10:30 am. and after 11:00 a.m. at the Union # 2 Church.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Poplar Log Cemetery.

Robert Barkley England




   Robert Barkley England, age 78, of Tompkinsville, died Friday, September 22, 2017 at Signature Healthcare in Tompkinsville.

   Born August 15, 1938 in Tompkinsville, he was a son of the late Dewey and Ernie Wheat England and the husband of Carolyn Britt England, Tompkinsville, who survives.

   He was a farmer and a logger. He was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.

   Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Leon (Brenda)  England, Roger England, and Jimmy (Stacy) England all of Tompkinsville; three step daughters, Melissa (Calvin) Jones, Tompkinsville, Pamela (John Pike) Ryherd, Ft. Run, and Sharon (Tony) Emberton, Summer Shade;  two step sons, Gregory Walker, Tompkinsville and Shannon (Crissy)  Walker, Bethlehem Community;  one sister, Jessie Dubree, Persimmon Community;  one brother, Corbin England, Tompkinsville: 9 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

   Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Eugene England.

   A memorial service will be held at a later date, as cremation was chosen.

   McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.

LEROY JENNINGS










    Homer Leroy Jennings, age 69, of Edmonton, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Green view Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.

   Born August 5, 1948 in Glasgow, he was a son of Homer Lee and Lillian Lewis Jennings, Tompkinsville, who survive.

   He was a Baptist preacher.

   Survivors include several nieces and nephews: one sister in law, Juanita Jones:  one brother in law, David Chapman; one step sister, Linda Carter, IN; and two step brothers, Jerry Whitlock and Charles Whitlock, IN

   He was preceded in death by one brother, Dearil Jones, one sister, Patricia Jester and one step sister Mary Whitlock.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Brother Larry Noe officiating.  Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 12, 2017, 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, after 7:00 a.m.  until time of services.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Beaumont Cemetery.

Constance Ann Wilson Dubray


   Constance Ann Wilson Dubray, age 81, of Summer Shade, died Friday, September1, 2017, at Monroe County Medical Center.
   Born March 19, 1936 in Granville, Vermont, she was a daughter of the late Frank Willie and Myrtle Bell Stone Wilson. She was the widow of the late Thomas Edward Dubray.
   She was a housewife and a member of Corner Stone Church.
   Survivors include one daughter, Andrea Pecor, Edmonton; three sons, Allan Bryant Dubray, Colombia, Bill Dubray, Edmonton and Mike Dubray, Edmonton; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
   Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
   Graveside services will be Monday, September 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summer Shade Cemetery, with Bro Mark Parks officiating.
