ROY HARLAN GRIDER

Roy Harlan Grider, age 90 of Summer Shade, died Monday, September 17, 2012 at the T J Samson Community Hospital.  He was the son of the late Victor and Laura Holloway Grider and a Veteran of WW 11.
He was a Godly man, having been dedicated to his wife of 67 years, Doris Pedigo Grider and a Sunday School Teacher at Missionary Mound Baptist Church where he attended for many years.
He was president of the Bank of Summer Shade and a director of the Edmonton State Bank. He was a farmer and was involved in many community activities..
In addition to his wife, he was survived by two grandchildren, Laura Marie Grider and Bradley Thomas Grider of Nashville,Tn;  a daughter in law, Peggy Bartley Grider Webb of Hendersonville, Tn  .Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Grider, sister,Lucille Carder,  brothers, Robert, Randall and E.W.Grider.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 1:00 PM at the Missionary Mound Baptist Church with Bro Walter Graham and Bro. Dale Copas officiating. Burial will follow in the Missionary Mound Cemetery with Military honors provided by the Glasgow Chapter 20 of the DAV.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM Wednesday at the church.

MATTIE DENHAM PERKINS GLASS

Mattie Denham Perkins Glass, age 99 of Edmonton, formerly of Summer Shade and Florida, died Wednesday, September, 05, 2012 at the Metcalfe Co. Health Care.  She was a daughter of the late Jodie C. and Bessie Waller Denham and was of the Baptist Faith. 
She is survived by one son, Isaac Dalton Perkins of Texas;  sister in law, Betty Perkins of Tn;  seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and six great, great grandchilcdren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Perkins and Buell Glass, one son, Bobbie Lee Perkins and Six brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 8 at 1:00 PM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bro. Dexter Bacon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept.7 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
