Winford Frank Jennings, 77, of Smyrna TN, and formally of Summer Shade KY, passed away on September 23, 2026, at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center, in Murfreesboro, TN.

Born on January 5, 1949, to the late Edd and Minnie Pearl Oliver Jennings. Mr. Jennings lived a life shaped by hard work, service, and the simple joys he cherished most. He worked as a welder, a trade that reflected both skill and dedication. He also served his country in the U.S. Army, including service in Germany.

Outside of his work and military service, Winford enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, art, basket weaving, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. These interests brought meaning and pleasure to his life and reflected a man who appreciated both creativity and companionship.

Survivors include his son, Dr. Shaun Jennings; a daughter, Lauren RaShae Jennings; two sisters, Bonnie Sue Jennings and Tilda Ann Jennings; a brother, Bill Jennings; a nephew, Chris Jennings; and his companion of many years, Martha Lee. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers, Paul Jennings and Jessie Jennings. 

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 1:00PM at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM and will continue on Monday after 8:00AM at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
