Rita Rae Abney, age 80, of Beaumont passed away on April 25, 2023 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow . She was born on August 14, 1942 in Wheeling , West Virginia , a daughter of the late Lola Cavender Summers and Farmer Summers.

She is survived by her husband, James Abney Sr. of Beaumont; three sons, James Abney Jr. (Gina) of Indianapolis, John Marvin Abney (Kim) Cecilia, KY, and Russell Warren of Indianapolis; one daughter, Michael Hitch of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, James Abney III (Jessica) or Horse Cave, KY and Issac Cole Abney of Bowling Green; two great grandchildren, James Kaden Abney and Gabriel Alexzander Abney; and brothers, Dewey Summers (Janice) of Indianapolis and Jimmy Summers (Pam) of Cookeville, TN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Charolette Hughes and Janet Elliot.

Cremation was chosen by the family and no services will be announced at the present time.
