He worked as maintenance in the trucking industry and was of the Baptist faith. Jimmy served two years in the US Army during the Vietnam War era. He was stationed with a missile unit in Germany for eighteen months.

Survivors include one son, Jason Garmon, Glasgow; two brothers Ted (Janis) Garmon, Glasgow and Jerry Mac Garmon, Edmonton ; the mother of his son, Sandy Garmon; one aunt and uncle, Billy and Sue Hurt; and nephews and a great niece.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 23, 2021, 2:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with Brother Dale Copas officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaumont Cemetery .

Visitation will be Friday, October 22, 2021, 5:00-8:00 P.M.  and on Saturday after 8:00 A.M. until time of service at 2:00.
