James Lee White, age 78, of Summer Shade, died Thursday, December 15, 2017 at Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington , KY.

Born January 19, 1939 in Edmonton , he was a son of the late Clure Douglas and Kathleen Martin White.

He was a truck driver and an Army veteran. Survivors include one daughter Lesa (Chris) Lopeman, TX; one son Greg White, Summer Shade; one step daughter, Sue Barone, Chicago; 5 grandchildren Jesse Ray White, Taylor Jean White, Harley Jean White, Nyssa Lopeman, and Raistlin Lopeman; 5 step grandchildren Tracy Murphy, Teresa Jones, Phillip Jones Jr, Shaun Murphy, and Josh Barone; several great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Stewart, Edmonton; and one half sister Josephine Harper, Edmonton.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one step daughter, Patricia White and one sister Shirley White.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery . Visitation will be Sunday, December 17, 2017, 1:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday, December 18, 2017 after 7:00 a.m. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Fire Department.
