Obituary

Ivy Jewell “Judy” Bilbrey, 93, of Marrowbone, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at Signature Healthcare at North Hardin in Radcliff, KY. Born on February 15, 1933, in Marrowbone, Ivy lived a life defined by steadfast faith, enduring love, and deep devotion to family and friends.

Ivy was the beloved daughter of the late Harry Russell and Essie Mae Anderson. She spent her formative years in Marrowbone, growing up surrounded by a large and loving family. Ivy’s early life was shaped by the bonds she shared with her siblings, many of whom preceded her in death: Cecil Anderson, Dimple Anderson, Holly Anderson, Russell Anderson, Alyne Anderson, Claude Anderson, Viola Taylor, and Eveline Radez. She is survived by her loving brother Leo Dennie Anderson (Linda) and dear sister Grace Anderson, who will cherish her memory always.

Ivy married the love of her life, Clarence Ray Bilbrey, and together they built a home filled with warmth and laughter until his passing. Their legacy continues through their son, Nathan Bilbrey (Shelby), of Elizabethtown, KY and Ivy took great pride in being a caring and supportive mother. Her heart swelled with joy at the births of her grandchildren, Crystal Bilbrey and Benjamin Bilbrey, with whom she shared countless cherished moments.

Known for her remarkable talents, Ivy’s nimble hands crafted beautiful quilts and crocheted keepsakes that graced the homes of those she loved. She found both solace and satisfaction in her garden, and her pantry was always filled with home-canned vegetables—a testament to her skill, resourcefulness, and the nurturing spirit that guided her every day. More than anything, Ivy treasured time spent with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and love across generations.

A woman of unwavering faith, Ivy was an active and proud member of Marrowbone Baptist Church. Her dedication to her church family and the Marrowbone community was a source of inspiration and pride throughout her life. Ivy’s gentle spirit, kindness, and commitment to serving others leave a lasting imprint on everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
