Brenda Sue Moore, age 75, of Tompkinsville passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at her home. She was born December 30, 1947, in Tompkinsville to the late Ray and Nettie Birge.

Brenda was a member of Mt. Gilead Church of Christ and retired from American General Insurance. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, square dancing and traveling to Florida for the winter with her husband Dale.

She is survived by her husband Dale Moore, daughter Glenda Lyon (Steven); three grandchildren Steven Dale Lyon (Katie), Michael Trent Lyon (Lisa) and Rylee Lyons; four great grandchildren Sawyer, Lyndon, Ariya, and Kiera Lyon. Sisters Dorene Hard, Nancy McIntyre, Linda Long and Sondra Richey (Tony). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Bob Birge, Harold Birge, Kelly Birge and Shelly Birge, and two sisters Evie Moore and Mary Lena Birge.

Funeral services will be held Sunday October 15, 2023, 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Gilead Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will be Saturday October 14, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at McMurtrey Funeral Home and on Sunday from 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. here at the funeral home and from 12:00 P.M. until time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hosparus Health Barren River.
