Betty Ellen Gentry Thompson, age 70, of Randolph , died Sunday, November 8, 2015, at T J Samson Hospital in Glasgow .

Born August 24, 1945 in Summer Shade, she was a daughter of the late Matry Huffman and John Edward Gentry, and the wife of Joe (Mr. Joe) Thompson, who survives. They were married 52 years.

She was a hairdresser and worked at Save A Lot in Glasgow . She was a member of the Goodson Chapel Methodist Church .

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one son, Blakely Todd Thompson, Randolph; one grandchild, Blake Austin Thompson, Glasgow; one brother, Buddy (Debbie) Gentry, Summer Shade; four nieces, Rendy (Ronnie) Perkins, Marketta Acree, Tonya (Jimmy) Edwards, and Nicole Gentry; and five nephews, Steve ( Sandy ) Garrett, Kenny (Cheryl) Garrett, Mark (Lisa) Garrett, and Tony Garrett.

She was preceded in death besides her parents, by two sisters, Linda Gentry and Mary Garrett; and two nephews, Mike and Robbie Garrett.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery . Visitation will begin Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 12:00 am and on Wednesday after 7:00 am, until time of services.
