Barbara Lou Hicks Hurt, age 64 of Summer Shade, Ky. died  Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Vanderbilt Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Ralph and Luzadie Hicks. She was a housewife and of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by her husband Darrell Gene Hurt, one son, Ricky Darrell Hurt, Summer Shade, and one granddaughter Aylia Renee Hurt, Summer Shade, and one great granddaughter, Akaylia Renee Hurt. She is also survived by 4 brothers, Bobby (Sue) Hicks, Louie (Karen) Hicks, Paul (Sondra) Hicks and Roger (Charity) Hicks all of Indiana. She is survived by 4 sister, Frances (Ed) Adkins, Temple Hill, Sheila (Mike) Wix, Indiana,  Nita (Steve) Campbell, Prestonsburg, and Sylvia Davidson, Glasgow In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Hicks. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 20, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the McMurtrey Funeral home. Burial will follow at Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 21 at 2:00 P. M. at the funeral home.
