Judy Mae Groce

 

           

Judy Mae Groce, 78, of Beaumont, KY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice House in Glasgow, KY. She was born in Cumberland County on June 28, 1946, to the late John Curtis and Mary Aileen Logan Scott. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one brother Junior Curtis Scott.

 Mrs. Groce was a member of Goodson Chapel Church. She was formerly employed with Sumitomo where she later retired. Judy enjoyed her flowers, cooking, gardening and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchild.

 Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Glen “Preston” Groce; One daughter Connie Humes (Kenny) of Summer Shade; Two grandchildren Casey Humes Brown (Brian) of London, KY, and Kaleb Humes of Summer Shade; One great grandchild Hadley Humes of Summer Shade. Special sister Ruthie Jessie of Edmonton; One aunt and several cousins also survive.

 Funeral services will be 11:30AM Friday, June 13, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Perkins Cemetery in Cumberland County. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00PM-8:00PM and will continue Friday morning after 8:00AM until time of the service at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Roy M. Farlee

 

  

 

 Roy M. Farlee, 74, of Burkesville, KY passed away Tuesday evening, May 27, 2025, at the Cumberland County Hospital. He was born in Tompkinsville, KY on February 15, 1951, to the late Joe and Mary Shaw Farlee. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Malinda Kay Hurt Farlee; Two grandchildren Justin Simpson and Jeffrey Savage; Three brothers Lynn Farlee, Jay Vibbert, and Marshal “Dump” Vibbert.

 Mr. Farlee was a farmer and a member of the House of Prayer Church in Edmonton. He enjoyed playing bingo, ginseng digging, listening to bluegrass music and spending time with his family.

 Survivors include one daughter Lora Simpson (Douglas Babcock); Three sons Jackie Simpson (Tracy), Jerry Simpson (Mary Froedge) and John Simpson (Pam); Eight grandchildren Jennifer Cooksey, Jason Simpson, Donald Anderson, Tonya Scott, Nathan Simpson (Linsey), Natasha Jones (Josh), Tyler Simpson and Ronnie Paul Savage; Eight Great Grandchildren Alex Savage, Jake Simpson, Andrew Cooksey, Jett Simpson, Cody Fall, Kenna Jones, Justin Scott, Nicholas Anderson, Hadleigh Jones, and Ezra Jones; Four Great Great Grandchildren Jaxon, Lukas, Bristol and Olivia Savage. Four siblings Kay, Ray, Sue Vibbert and Brenda Farlee; Special friend Sherry Cope.

 Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Friday, May 30, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in Beaumont cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at McMurtrey Funeral Home from 4:00PM-8:00PM and will continue Friday morning after 8:00AM until time for the service.

Dollie Dimple Keith


Dollie Dimple Keith, 92, of Summer Shade, KY passed away peacefully on Friday morning, May 23, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Summer Shade, KY on April 25, 1933, to the late Sam and Nervie Kingrey Harper. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Alton Keith; One grandchild Gaithel Ogborn; One great grandchild Mason Ogborn and five siblings also precede her in death.  

 Ms. Keith was a member of Canaanland Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with K-mart where she was a restaurant manager. She enjoyed farm work, loved working outside and cooking for her family and friends.

 Survivors include three daughters Sheila Berryman (Danny) of Summer Shade, Sheena Wilson of Glasgow, Shirley Parrish of Summer Shade; One Son Gaithel Spears (Wanda) of Summer Shade; Granddaughter that she raised since birth Susan Crouder Chenoweth of Glasgow; Five grandchildren Thomas Stone, Coy Berryman, William Ogborn, Tina Asher, and Lee Spears; Twelve great grandchildren Bailey Stone, Logan Stone, Ethan Chenoweth, Weston Spears, Aunna Spears, Adrienne Spears, Arieal Sturgeon, Harley Johnson, Brooke Ogborn, Mika Ogborn, Hayden Berryman and Tukker Berryman.

 Funeral services will be 1:00PM Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in Union #2 cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00PM-8:00PM and will continue Tuesday morning after 8:00AM until time of service at McMurtrey Funeral Home.



Patricia A. Wheet Coomer

 


  Patricia A. Wheet Coomer, 66, of Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. She was born in Glasgow, KY on August 25, 1958, to the late Derral Alton and Barbara Glass. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Arlin Wheet and a daughter Patricia Renee Scott.

Mrs. Coomer was a member of the Hickory College Church of Christ. She was a part of Sano Stars Homemaker's Club. She enjoyed flea markets, auctions, doing crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Russell Coomer of Russell Springs, KY; a son John Scott of Columbia, KY; a stepson Mark Coomer (Michelle) of Tennessee; four step grandchildren Noah, Jonathan, Jade, and Katie Coomer; a step great grandson Easton Coomer; three siblings Beverly Bruton (Donald) of Smiths Grove, KY, Don Glass (Kathy) of Edmonton, and Randell Glass (Dianna) of Edmonton, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, May 25, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Randolph. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue Sunday after 8:00am at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
