Ralph Neal Taylor

  


Ralph Neal Taylor, 78, of Eighty-Eight KY, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. He was born on February 16, 1947, in Glasgow to the late Eldon and Marie Mathews Taylor.

Ralph was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sharp shooting.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Taylor; son, Chris (Carol) Taylor; grandchildren, Dylan and McKenzie Taylor; step grandchildren, Nick and Taylor; brother, Danny Taylor; brother-in-law, Rihard Spillman (Polly); aunt, Mabel Moran (Billy); several nieces, nephews, and 1’st cousins; and a special friend, Denissa Garrett.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Ronnie, Rita, and Dana.

A graveside service will be held at the Poplar Springs Cemetery on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice.

Robert Hagan

 Robert Eugene Hagan, 57, of Edmonton, KY, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was born in Glasgow, KY on September 18, 1967, to the late Jessie and Ruth Firkins Hagan. Robert was over the road truck driver.

 Survivors include four sisters, Cindy Lollar of Cave City, Karen Capshaw of Edmonton, Tracy Shirley of Scottsville and Erica Hagan of Columbia; four brothers, Dale Hagan of Edmonton, Stephen Hagan of Hardyville, Darrell Hagan of Glasgow and Mike Hagan of Columbia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

 Besides his parents Robert is preceded in death by his grandmother Katheryn Firkns and a special friend, Niecy.

 In keeping with Robert’s wishes cremation was chosen and no services are scheduled at this time. McMurtrey Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Hazel McFarland


Hazel McFarland, 94, of Glasgow, KY, formerly of Willow Shade, KY, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at her home. She was born on June 24, 1931, in Willow Shade, to the late Ezra Lester and Hylus White Lester.

Hazel was of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Faith. She retired from NHC Healthcare as a dietitian and found enjoyment in cooking.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers; Murl, Tennyson, Raymond, Wayne, and Frank Lester; and one sister Helen Garrett.

Survivors include three sons, Dean McFarland (Audrey) of Glasgow, Larry McFarland of Owenton, and Jim McFarland of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Jay McFarland (Gina) of Glasgow and Brittany Gardner (Chuck) of Summer Shade; three great grandchildren, Charli, Mattie Jay, and Raelyn Gardner; one sister, Juanita Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm Friday, September 5, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with burial in Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday morning at 10:00AM and will continue until time of the service at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
