Walter Wesley Jones, age 77 passed away at his residence in
Summer Shade, Ky. on February 23, 2024. Born in Alabama, May 30, 1946, he was
the son of the late Ross C. and Louise Gore Jones. He was married for 55 years
to the late Phyllis Jones. Walter was a Vietnam Veteran. He ran Leaning Pine
Heating and Cooling Business and was a faithful member of Mill Creek Baptist
Church.
Walter Jones is survived by his daughter, Tina (Titus) Awokuse,
Michigan; son David (Theresa) Jones, Louisville; brother; Ross C. Jones Jr,
sister-in-law, Paula (Larry) Blakeman, Campbellsville; seven grandchildren
Daniel, Joshua and Sarah Awokuse and Zachary (Haley), Bradley, Valerie and
Cameron Jones; one great-grandson Kashton Jones.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife, and son Samuel
W. Jones
A graveside service will be held Tuesday February 27, 2024 – 1:00
P.M. at the Gee Harvey Cemetery in Summer Shade.
Instead of flowers the family has requested that contributions
be made to the Gee Harvey Cemetery and can be left with the McMurtrey Funeral Home.
