ROY LEE HUMES

Roy Lee Humes, age 74 of Summer Shade, died Sunday, Jan. 29 at home.  He was a son of the late Clayton and Effie Dubree Humes and was retired from the Logging Industry.  He was a member of the Hagan's Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Kenny Lee (Connie ) Humes of Summer Shade;  four daughters, Tammy Humes of Tompkinsville, Betty Bryant of Marrowbone,  Margaret  (Marty) Nance of Edmonton and Sue (Richard) Bowman of Tompkinsville;  grandchildren, Casey and Kaleb Humes, Beth Crawley, Becky Ballad, Angela Compton and Melissa Page;  eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild;  three sisters, Joyce ( Jerry) Kerr of Tompkinsville, Helen ( Joe Billy ) Bowman of Tompkinsville and Geraldine (Willie) Bowman of Summer Shade.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Humes, sisters, Stella Shaw, Odell Lollar, Hazel Paull, Ida Mae Self and brothers, Ralph, Harlie, Robert and Rondal Humes.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 1:00 PM at the McMurtrey Funeral Home with Bro. Shannon Arnett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gee-Harvey Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Tuesday,, Jan. 31 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Gee-Harvey Cemetery or the Summer Shade Fire Dept. by leaving at the funeral home or mailing to McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Rd. Summer Shade,Ky. 42166.
